Why hasn't pearl jam ever been on the stern show? I know Howard is a fan. One of his favorite songs was glorified g. I'm sure the show would have had them on. Is it the band denying request? Anyone have any insight?

I remember when "Riot Act" came out they did an interview at what was then KROC in NY but they did it on the Kane show, which Howard wasn't too pleased about. Don't think they'd open themselves up to Howard's line of questioning. But maybe now that they are all part of the "Sirius" brotherhood that'll change.

During Vote For Change, I remember them saying they were offered Stone (and I think Mike Mills), but wanted Eddie. Alas...

I wish they would. I have been listening to Howard for years and either have my sirius
on PJ Radio or Howard. Howard's pretty good interviewing the rock legends. The Chris Cornell
interview was awesome and would be great to get Eddie and guys in there but doubt it will happen.
I think Howard would have so many more questions about their music, writing, ideas and not push
the entire sex talk as he does with many of the celebrities. We can always wish.

Nothing beats Stern's first interview with Paul McCartney in the early 2000's. Had Paul talking about his first sexual experience after Linda's death and everything. Very deep stuff that NO OTHER INTERVIEWER IN THE WORLD would dare ask Paul McCartney.

By the way, Stern's on Jimmy Fallon tonight.

I did not listen to stern until around 98, but have heard thousands of reruns from the early 90's. I vaguely remember a discussion about that. But I don't think they were interviewing them.

Yeah. Theyve never been on. Howard's latest interview with Cornell and Chris Martin were amazing. I'd love to see/hear Eddie and Mike bang out a few tunes. Some day. I hope.

I do remember listening to a clip Howard had of Crazy Cabbie interviewing Eddie, probably back in 05'...He was bad-mouthing both of them, though...Came across this and Howard knew what he was talking about back in 93  http://youtu.be/0nyRZBc6OPc

It will never happen. Eddie is too private and Howard really only wants to speak to eddie. Howard would ask Eddie when was the first time he fucked two chicks and eddie would walk out. We can only hope. Howard is the best.

It wont happen. This topic comes up here once in awhile.

Eddie would never sit there and be able to handle/shrug off Howard's line of questioning. It wouldnt be a good interview.

Howard resented PJ for awhile I think, as he does with people who wont do the show, but in recent years I think he has been exposed to some PJ. Once in awhile some will slip out during bumpers, or when he saw them on that Who special and the Lynch thing, etc... I wouldnt be surprised if EV and HS have met off air and conversed.

because Howard is a loser who acts like a 14-year old boy was given a radio show. it's was funny 20 years ago (you know when the audience was 16-25), now it's just sad and pathetic. and he's become so irrelevant on satellite that he has now whored himself out to a sad reality show as a judge. eddie and the band have way more mature things to talk about than their sex lives.

Howard is the best interviewer alive right now. Clearly, you dont or havent listened to Stern. Its not always about sex. He gets people to say things they would never say because he makes the guests feel comfortable. Not only is he not irrelevant but as John Cusack put it, "Howard you move the needle." Howard saved satellite radio. Just wait, Americas Got Talent will shoot up in the ratings just because of the following Howard has.

Thanks for sharing this! Howard obviously could care less about the lyrics...he even says so, but I love that he kept going on and on about Ten being album of the year.
"I guess looks aren't everything," Howard said about Eddie.
    Watch your mouth!!!

I listen to Howard if PJ Radio isn't on, however I don't see a Pearl Jam interview happening on the Stern Show. You never know, though! I would be nervoulsy waiting for the one question that pushes it too far...

Howard is the best interviewer in the business. Had a great one with Sacha Baron Cohen earlier this week. LIke others in this thread said, the interviews with Cornell and Chris Martin recently were outstanding. One he did w/ Jonah Hill a month or 2 ago was a good one too. Would love for any of the guys in PJ to go on the Stern show, although he would probably only want EV.

I gotta agree with pjhawks. it blows my mind that stern makes $5M (?) per year without possessing any discernible talent. only in america...

I'm sure they probably have met. Stern loves EV. But yeah, unless stern signed a contract promising not to ask about Ed's personal life (I.e. sex, family, and friends), I don't think Ed would do it. And I don't think Stern would do that either. But I quite recently saw Howard speaking well of Ed on some bit on TV (sorry, no idea where I saw it from). I don't think he has any hard feelings now, if he ever did.

Nope, he's not. Millions and millions follow him. And you know, I will likely check out America's Got Talent for the first time ever now. And I don't even have Serius Radio.

Yeah. Like JLo, Stephen Tyler, Ellen Degenerous, and other such has been non celebrities. I understand why some people wouldn't like those kinds of shows, but at least be honest about them. Huge current stars are willing to be on them.

Does he still have that show on CBS Saturday Nights? I used to watch that during (or was it after) SNL. And that was in the late '90's? As for his radio show, could never listen to it @ work.
