Alpine Valley Resort says...

and usually festivals are no seating, alpine valley has seats. when pearl jam at first said they are going to have a weekend festival, i pictured it as maybe in a football stadium, or big field that had concerts before for example manchester tn bonaroo, but somwhere else. like that golden gate park san fran etc there is tons of those places.
alpine valley only holds 40,000. and if its a 3 or 4 day festival? will they sell single day tickets? my guess is yes, therefore im sure the venue would not allow camping, or it could turn into over 100,000 people and there is not enough room for all those people. i remember the parking lot when i was there it was pretty packed, its a huge parking lot, but its built for about 40,000 people. so what 10,000 or 15,000 car range? if there is single day tickets, on long weekend, every one that goes to 1 show, will want to go to the next show. therefore more people could end up in the parking lot than tickets???
if this venue ever has trouble my guess is they have to call in the state police cause its in the middle of nowhere.
i like alpine valley its a good venue, but i think its better served for a 1 night show, and not a festival setting. nothing of inside that venue reminds me of anything to do with festival settings anywhere, the parking lot tailgate is fun. but tailgating would be fun at beaver stadium in state college pa too0 -

My sources, who were right last year as well, say another two dates are in the works for this labor day weekend as well. I trust this guy especially since he's been an alpine season ticket holder for years and was right last year tooFormerly Brew Crew Tix

I could see it happening. A 2 day stop, just like some of the other big cities. Maybe invite some friends to open up and kick off a small fall U.S. tour and new album.
I called the resort a few days ago and they said that people had already booked rooms for the weekend, but nothing was for certain yet. She said I could call back and talk to the manager but I never did.
Reservations are only a $150 hold on your CC and it's fully refundable as long as you cancel at least 3 days ahead of time. I think it was $215 a night last time. I put my name down last year at this time and was able to secure a room for PJ20.0 -

It was fully worth it last time, if you can afford it. We both wouldn't stay any place else. Plus, if you get another couple or a few friends to split it with, it's not as bad!0 -

Why they like that dump is beyond me. So many better amphitheaters in better locations. They ran out of food early on day 2 for goodness sakes.Member 164xxx

I can understand how an out of towner would think it's a dump. The resort is a dump. The weekend was gloomy and the shows didn't meet the hype in my opinion. No exuse for running out of grub."Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -
