It's been an up and down sort of week.
Went away with the unlost dogs last weekend. Got all the way up to Maine, and dropped my brand-new iPad in the parking lot. Glass down, on the pavement.
Saved the $39 cover. Broke the $800 tablet. It's still functional, if you don't mind lacerating yourself on the broken glass.
Checked in to the room. Realized I'd forgotten to pack dog food, socks and underwear.
Texted RKCNDY. Because, you know, she'd sympathize. Once she stopped laughing.
I'm still a little down about the iPad. I'd only had it for five weeks...
Get home today, find a package with familiar handwriting and RKCNDY's return address.
Open the package.
Oh my God oh my God oh my God oh my God. It's a Brad vinyl single, signed by the whole band. And... right on the cover... "To Trisha, love Stone."

Also an Easy Street sticker.
There were shrieks, there was jumping up and down, there was general hysteria.
Quickly followed by a way-too-short 53-minute phone call to La Casa de RKCNDY.
I had to hear every detail. What was he like, what's his hair like now, how about his glasses, what was he wearing, what did he smell like? (Regarding the latter, she said, "I didn't leap over the table to smell him!" I told her that in the future, it's very important to have an olfactory memory. So she should at least lean forward and take a big sniff. I'm not sure she concurs.)
Regarding the "love, Stone" all I can say is that when they played Boston in May 2010, we shared a moment. I'm pretty sure he looked right at me. I don't care if I was in the 45th row, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
RKCNDY, I'd try to thank you but I really have no words. I do, however, have a face splitting grin going on right now.
You da best, my West Coast Sistah!!!

Very nice story!
One question...do you have to leave MA in order to do weird stuff with dogfood, socks and underwear? Are the laws pertaining to such things more liberal in Maine?0 -

What happens in Maine, stays in Maine.

i have a few words...
first, lisa rocks and anyone that thinks different will have to answer to me
an ipad can be readily replaced with a pad of paper and a pencil
i guess my confusion is when did maine outlaw the selling of underwear, socks and dog food? seems strange that they would single out those 3 things...it's almost like they are trying to punish absent minded dog agility trainers :think:0 -

Hmmm. I always thought of him as smelling like a forest green crayon. Or maybe sepia. Not red, though. :think:15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -

It was 9:30 at night when I checked in to the hotel room and realized this! I'd had 4 glasses of wine, and wasn't going to be driving anywhere! And... and... it was dark, and... and... it was Maine! And... and... I had to be at the trial site at 6:30 the next morning... no shopping opportunity for me.
I fed the dogs the cold friend chicken that was to be my lunch. Also a bunch of treats. Rinsed my undies out in the sink and rewore the socks.
The next day I was uncomfortable wearing slightly damp undies (I don't know why I didn't use the hotel room hairdryer to dry them), and knowing that my socks were not clean. But worst of all was the excessive flatulence the fried chicken produced in one of the unlost dogs who shall remain nameless but is prominently featured in my avatar. Ah, that was my first question but I neglected to put that in the post.
She reports that his hair was shaggy, like Shaggy in Scooby Doo.
I am going to have to text you a photo...15 years of sharks 06/30/08 (MA), 05/17/10 (Boston), 09/03/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/04/11 (Alpine Valley), 09/30/12 (Missoula), 07/19/13 (Wrigley), 10/15/13 (Worcester), 10/16/13 (Worcester), 10/25/13 (Hartford), 12/4/13 (Vancouver), 12/6/13 (Seattle), 6/26/14 (Berlin), 6/28/14 (Stockholm), 10/16/14 (Detroit)0 -
