    Cool, thanks for the info. It seems like the most reasonable rate I've found so far. It wasn't too far of a drive to there after the show was it?

    AV resort *standard* room rates for doubles are not too bad for weekdays $89 and for fri, sat and holidays $119
    BUT if a show is announced for those dates the rates soar to around $200!

    question i neglected to ask is:

    is that rate for JUST the dates of the shows, or for your entire stay before and after?
    i would think just the show dates, RIGHT?

    New to the place.....how serious should I be taking these rumors?? I don't want to miss out like I did last year but need a little firmer information. Who's the one that "knows" - there is always someone on a forum that has that inside information!
    Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

    Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

    there have been solid rumors posted on this topic starting early last year....

    if you all you are doing is booking a refundable room...what's the worst that happpens? you are losing a little intrestest income. big whoop

    well...last year some of us (that would be me) didn't take these same rumors all that seriously
    and ended up with a great deal of regret

    there should be a destination weekend somewhere or other, if not alpine
    mike did say and tim did say last year, that they want to make it an annual thing
    in the middle of the country somewhere
    and since it was such a good thing at alpine (although i prefer my shows SANS MUD! thank you very much)
    i wouldn't be too awfully surprised if they do it there again
    i don't know where the 3 year contract with alpine is coming from..but its possible

    if you have a credit or debit card, AV just told me that they don't charge anything to your card unless it becomes a concert weekend, at that point they will put $115 hold on your card for the weekend. So that's not bad :)

    OR you can room with me ... outside under the elm tree..can't promise you'll get lightening..but probably a good rain ;)
