Yeah, I remember..... i think that's the only day of the whole trip where i can remember every single thing that happened!!! was just so pumped that they were playing Newy!!! :) I remember you looked really stressed and really tired, for obvious reasons!!! Think I introduced myself and thanked you for your efforts, then kept drinking...

The fact that I went to Sydney 3 the night before, and had to go to a christening at 10am that morning didn't help matters :)

That pre-show was pretty cool. It went much better than I could've imagined, and everybody seemed to have a good time :)

I still can't believe we raised over $4000

yeah, was definitely the biggest turn out for any of the pre shows, although they were all good fun for different reasons! :) I think that was my favourite couple of days.... from Sydney 3 to Newy through to Adelaide 1 and the keg party at Gus's place, don't think I was sober for more than a couple of hours at a time!!!

looking forward to doing it all again in november!

I've managed to drag about a dozen people in the Powderfinger forum to come here from all over the country :)

It's like Pearl Jam all over again :D

you might regret that, they are all freaks!

The Sydney 3/Newcastle combo was just FANTASTIC!!!

Yeah, listened to the Sydney 3 boot at work the other day..... such a great show! The singalong for Betterman to open just gives me goosebumps, and gets me pumped to rock along to the rest of the show!!! such a different crowd from the bunch of pretenders at Sydney 2... ;)

The sad fact is that after many listens of Sydney 2, i've come to the conclusion that the Sydney 2 setlist was one of the best of the Aussie tour!!
We sooo need 10c tix for every show :(

Agreed.... from Sad through to Daughter, it's probably my fave 10 song stretch from any show ever!!! I know I was rocking out hard with Dale and a couple of guys from the Central Coast, and this old guy who had flown out from Japan just for that show! :) Shame on you, 95% of the rest of the crowd though...

The venue doesn't help though. ACER is so big that it diminishes the crowd's participation due to people right at the back almost needing binoculars to see the act (not including the video screens)
I went for a quick walk during the start of KOL's set at Sydney 1, and me and my mate got the lift up to level 4 so that we could duck out for a smoke. As I was walking past, I peered through the curtains to take a look and KOL looked like ants performing on the stage

Would you replace any song from the Newie setlist (apart from the mainstream faves Alive, Daughter, Even Flow, Better Man etc)?

Yeah, they were definitely my worst tix for any show.... we were on the corner on stones side, at the back of the first tiered section.... only good thing was we had that 4 or 5 metre wall behind us up to the next lot of seats, so no one complained about us standing on our seats and dancing like spastics all night!!! :)

I pretty much got all the songs I wanted to hear over the tour, plus a heap of others i didn't expect.... if i could though, i would replace Even Flow from Newy with Hard To Imagine.... seems kind of fitting, and I really, really, really wanted to hear that one live! :) Alive to open was the shit!!!

I would've replaced Yellow Ledbetter with Parting Ways. IMO opinion that's the ultimate last song.
I also would've swapped Footsteps for one of the other choices on the setlist for that song, Nothingman or Fatal. My personal choice would've been Fatal

They played it 3 times in soundcheck, along with In My Tree and Throw Your Hatred Down.

I would've loved to hear In My Tree at the show :(
    Would've been a great 2nd song........"Wave to all my friends" :D
