I think everyone here can agree that what this lady did was ridiculous and her reasoning behind it appalling, no?
what do you mean? a second house and new car are expensive...she isn't working...you cannot expect her to spend her own money on food now that she owns two houses...
but as the mom said...it is no one's business if she didn't do anything illegal
I am rushing to judgement here...but it seems to me this young lottery winner may have never had a chancethat’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb

This is just an example of all of those taking advantage of food stamps. And judging from how dumb and ignorant the young lady is, I bet she's somewhat of an accurate portrayal of those ripping off the govt for food stamps and/or other services.0

It's easy to play ignorant when your back is against the wall..."Oh I didn't know"
this mindset is not ignorance though it is one of entitlement0 -

An overblown sense of entitlement is, I think, the main identifying factor of this woman's generation. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

I agree. Her argument that she thought it was OK because nobody told her it wasn't doesn't do anything to help make her look any better. She basically is saying that she doesn't have any way of making any types of moral choices on her own so it's not her fault. She's entitled to things but responsible for nothing. It must be a nice way to live.0 -
I so agree with this - and not just as it applies to this particular idiot in this situation, but to others who have that same mindset.Monster Rain wrote:She basically is saying that she doesn't have any way of making any types of moral choices on her own so it's not her fault. Like pandora said - "take, take, take" (I too am a JW fan)
I just can't imagine a life like that - no independence, common sense, or accountability.0 -
What I feel for the most here are the young struggling working kids who do not qualify for
aid or even if they did wouldn't try for it.
I received a pic yesterday ironic as this subject we are speaking on...
it was from a young person who works hard, through school, both full time.
these folks paid with their welfare card ....
"I spent half of my money for the week on two bags of groceries... I'm so glad my tax money could help them get two buggies full! notice the big bucket of cheese puffs on the bottom of there cart lol WHAT A NECESSITY!"
I won't post the pic of course but the buggies were busting!
the point really is that hard working people young and old are feeling scammed
and taken advantage of.
They buy very carefully because they can not afford what they could one year ago.
They work and have nothing left.
There is not a time that I go to the store that someone is not paying with aid ...
this in a middle to upperclass area ...
what have we done to our country?
I best not mention about the lottery winner someone will blow a gasket :shock:0
