Eddie Vedder Adds Memphis Show to 2012 US Solo Tour

This is great!! However, I was looking into the Phoenix, AZ show; $96.00, Vegas $108.00 REALLY?!? What happened to making the tickets affordable for everyone? Because Eddie and the guys are older and thinking the fan base is older, the idea about making shows accessible to everyone has gone with age? I get that everyone needs to make money here but come on. I don't understand the prices and why.
Eddie and Pearl Jam have fans of all ages. It isn't just the people who grew up listening to them anymore. The same people who grew up listening to them now have kids and introducing their kids to the music. There kids are sharing with their friends and so on. Also, parents of the group who grew up listening to Pearl Jam are starting to listen as well. I personally think, they have figured out the staying power of Pearl Jam and talent that comes along with it. Now there kids or parents are wanting to see shows and can't afford it.
I can say this with confidence because my 14 year old son, 9 year old daughter, and 7 year old son were digging threw my old CD's and found all my old PJ, Alice in Chains, Bush, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Candle Box, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Penny Wise and so on. They really took to the PJ and Alice in Chains to the point my 7 year old want to sing Alive or The Roster (Alice in Chains) for his 1st grade talent show. My 14 year old has learned to play both songs on guitar and my 7 year old was going to have him play while he sang. Of course, they were shut down by the school because I live in a very LDS/Mormon community. It would have been a great post if they were able too.
They have also got Grandpa into the music as well. Grandpa has a band and have started covering PJ songs when they perform. When I was growing up I was told to, "turn that crap down". Now you get into his car and Grandpa has Rearviewmirror playing in his CD player. The CD is right along with The Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Skynard, Beatles, Boston, Journey, and so on. If that isn't credit to PJ's staying power..
I can go see My Darkest Day, Seether, Bush, and Nickel Back between $45 - $75. Yeah, I would only go to see My Darkest Day, Seether and Bush (not a fan of Nickel Back) but, would still pay that much for those 3 shows. I am a fan and always will be, no question. However, I want to see a show whether its Eddie or all of the band. But being an adult with kids, I cannot justify paying that much for a ticket.0 -

Just a heads up, Memphis was recently named the most expensive airport in the country to travel through. You'd probably save a lot of cash by flying into Nashville (or Little Rock) and driving to Memphis.
I'm driving from Memphis to Nashville to fly to some Ed shows in Florida and my savings were ridiculous.0 -

Thanks for the head's up! I wanted to go to Nashville anyhow, so maybe this will be a good excuse. We're driving over to Little Rock to catch up with a friend I met on this forum, so I'll look into that too. I flew into Little Rock for the West Memphis Three rally (Eddie plus Johnny Depp -- oh my!!!), and it was a nice little airport.
I'll be at the Orlando concert on May 16th. Will you be at that concert? You can't be neutral on a moving train.0 -

Nashville is tons of fun. PM me and I can tell you all the good stuff to hit.
Memphis can be fun too. The drive isn't too bad, 3 hours at most. I'll be driving to Memphis that morning. Thinking maybe hitting Graceland, then lunch at Hueys. Silkys after the EV show for a diver.0 -

While you're here you've gotta do the Gibson Guitar Factory Tour. It's way cool and very close to The Orpheum.0 -

I don't think anyone has volunteered at this point. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

I'd consider it but I'm from Minnesota and would have zero idea where to do it or have any real time to plan it.0

It would be cool if Eddie Vedder comes back to Toronto again for a solo show. I saw Pearl Jam for the first time last year and it was a really good show. Neil Young joining Pearl Jam during Keep On Rockin' The Free World was an awesome way to end the show.0

Anyone know if we'll find out what seat assignments we have from Ten Club drawing prior to day of show at will-call?The selfish, they're all standing in line

No, you won't know prior. You'll learn your seat locations when you pick up your tix.
