Their poker room is small and I'm sure they'd accommodate you guys. If not, you could fill most of the table and play with a few other non-PJ/Ed partiers.
we could gang up on those fuckers and take their moolah

any poker players out there? if we get enough players i am sure a casino we could let us lock down our own table for a while?
limit or no limit is fine with me, smaller stakes would keep it friendly and we could booze it up if thats your thing...
just an idea
I loved loved playing at The Sahara. The people that worked at that casino were so down to Earth and fun to be around. They used to serve finger sandwiches during the first break of a poker tournament.

RIP Sahara :(
I hear ya. That was a cool joint with a ton of history. They had $1 blackjack. You could sit for a couple hours, get demolished, and still be either up or down 20 bones.

Many a night we took the tram there but stood so late we had to take a cab back.
We'll be there on the 11th only (won tix in the lottery, a little disappointed the 2nd show ends up being the first show, but I'm not getting greedy and searching for tix to the new first show - don't want to press my luck).
Coming from Vancouver, BC.
+ husband
anyone dorky enough to want to do the Area 51 tour on the 10th or 12th? They usually only do the tour on Wednesdays and there's no way I'm going on the same day as the show - if we get 4-8 people they'll do it on the 10th or 12th.

Yeah it's not cheap and it's basically the whole day, but I don't care cause I've been to Vegas before so I think I want to see some other stuff this time - and we're not "club" people so...
or we might do a Death Valley tour instead but I'd rather do Area 51.

I would highly recommend not droppin the dough on this. You can go out there for free and visit it all yourself. If you have a rental car, just use a map or online directions. You can really do all of what they're offering for free yourself. I've been out there and to be honest, it's really not worth seeing. But if you want to do it, I'd suggest doing it on your own.
Another great thing to do is Red Rock Canyon. It's only 20 minutes from the Strip and has incredible scenery. There's a 13 mile loop drive that has lots of cool things to see and hiking trails. It offers great hikes and world-class climbing. They have a really cool new desert-themed visitor center with cool exhibits. The red rock formations are really cool. And you can see Indian petroglyphs there too.
There's also the Springs Preserve which is only 5-10 minutes from the Strip.
"The Springs Preserve is the premier place in Las Vegas to explore the valley's vibrant history through interactive science and nature exhibits, botanical gardens, hiking, trails, and live animal shows."

Sadly we do not drive so cannot rent a car to try do do some of the tours on our own :(
I did do Red Rock on horseback last year though.

It is confirmed....2 from Winnipeg and 1 from Vancouver will be attending the 11th preparty...crazy excited..love Vegas will be there from the 9th to the 12th !!!!!
The Red Rock thing sounds pretty cool. Is this where that huge long zip line ride is?
No, I don't think so there. There is one down on Fremont Street. For those not familiar, Fremont Street is located in downtown Las Vegas and has all of the old casinos. It's the place where gambling was first legalized in the '30s. If you've never been, it's a neat thing to see and do for a fun night out. The casinos are smaller, with lower ceilings. The whole street is pedestrian only and has tons of street performers and a canopy of electric lights that puts on a show that runs the entire length of the street.

We arrive at 6 on tuesday, so where is the after party?
I suppose people could walk back over to the Loose Caboose to meet up and rave about the show. With the endless options in Vegas, I just figured that everybody would have their own plan after Ed wows us all.

I like Fremont because they have the old timey slot machines where you pull the lever. Not the new high tech ones where you push a button on a touch screen.

i'm not usually a slot guy, but i REFUSE to play anything that doesnt have an arm to pull, or any of those new video slots with 80 betting lines. my head exploded when i tried to play one
anybody else hoping the poster for Vegas is totally badass?
Yeah, I am. Do you think there will most likely be just one for both nights? Perhaps with some color variation or something between the two nights?
