Before everyone freaks out, are you talking about January of 2007 until January of 2012 or have you shaved off all of 2007 and included 2012 in your claim of "five years" ? It doesn't seem like five years if you're talking about beginning of 2008 to the end of 2011.

I don't think it is insulting and I don't think they are ignoring the states. But as the years go by I am a little concerned that all the talk of families and not wanting to tour for that reason only effects Pearl Jam shows. Eddie can tour solo, Matt with Soundgarden, Jeff and Mike with Tres Mts, etc. Hopefully the new album will get released in the fall and we'll see more full band shows in the years to come.

It is hilarious. Ed is getting his wish to go back to playing small theaters. They are definitely closer to that then they are to selling out a 40 show arena tour.

I agree so why can't they put together a smaller venue tour since they can't sell out arena's anymore and Ed solo is not something i would rather see i saw him once solo and that is enough for me ....

  • They're not ignoring anyone they just don't tour as much as they used to. Is that so difficult to understand? Who says there won't be a US tour this year? Early days yet. Maybe they will wait until after the album is released so you can all hear the new songs? Get a grip.

Yep. They wouldn't sell a 40 show arena tour now, that's why they do 13 show tours at a time now. Creates more demand. It's like in the UK, they'll do 1 or 2 gigs and they'll sell out. If the announced 7 venues in the UK, they wouldn't sell them out. Manchester night 1 for this summer sold out straight away but night 2 took ages to sell out.

At the end of the day, they prefer doing short tours.

I was surprised as well that there was a Canada tour last year and not a US one, but I have to be selfish on that one and I definitely wasn't going to complain, LOL!

Honestly, I can't afford to travel to see them, so when you live in the boonies in Central Canada, you don't get a lot of chances to see them. I have been fortunate enough to catch 3 shows since 1993, and after both of the last 2 shows I told hubbie; "Boy, I sure hope I get to see them just *one more time*." They aren't pups anymore, they are starting families, I can understand why the tours are getting shorter and less frequent. Hell, I can barely stay awake late enough to see them play anymore myself

I am sure once they start pushing the new album there will be some US tours happening - they would be crazy at this point not to tour at home if they want the new album to do better than the last 2

It's not like they are playing overseas every 2 months is it? I think some people really need to a get a grip here. They haven't abandoned playing the USA, they aren't ignoring the USA. If they were playing East Coast USA shows every 6 months they'd get slaughtered by everyone. Again, they will tour whenever it suits them, not whenever its other people.

Most bands tour when they are promoting a new album, Pearl Jam don't have a new album out yet so maybe that's why they haven't announced or played in the USA this year (and bear in mind its only the middle of February)

anyone that was at the vic theater show or the atlantic city shows in 2005 knows full well a theater tour is the answer, and is an amazing experience for fans... why they continue to try and sell 15,000 tix in the US outside of the east coast, or completely ignore areas of the country is beyond me
