Doesn't this shit always come up when they announce a few shows in Europe before the US? I could see the questions regarding the lack of southern shows, but this? C'mon...

business has been slow....need more shows to create demand.
81 is now off the air

  • In the US, the only shows needed in 2011 were the Alpine shows. If there were others, it would have taken away from what that weekend was all about.

....dont care about Alpine or EV solo.......for a 20th anniversary this is bizarre.....put it this way, they still haven't played Seattle...that's like Bruce not playing new jersey after 20 years....its so strange.

probably because outside of the east coast and chicago there isnt overwhelming demand, and they refuse to play anything smaller then arena's nowadays...

i have always suggested playing smaller venues in the south and other places they dont usually sell well... maybe one day

This post makes absolutely no sense. The PJ20 shows were 2011 in the US. Anything more would have taken away from that weekend.

Get over it, they will tour the US in 2012.

  • Correct it's 48. I accidentally counted a string of Canada shows by mistake.

I still don't see what the point is.

I gotta say, I did not realize how low that number was for U.S. dates. Thats pretty amazing.

That averages under 10 shows/year. We all know their tours dont last long, but that number is ridiculous.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

I remember a few years back??
Mr. Jeff Ament saying how Pearl Jam wanted to become like The Grateful Dead, as far as touring goes....

    Yeah right....

Who the fuck are they fooling???

I think it is criminal that of those 49 shows only three have been in Boston.

The ITW/Ed solo tours have deeply cut into the pie that would be PJ dates. I understand they all have growing families as well. But even with Ed branching off on his own, that number is still pretty insulting.

Obviously they don't think so. I've seen them 6 times(plus an Ed and Tres. Mtns show) since 2008, that's enough for me. I haven't felt the drop off. They play now where they will sell out or a location that tickles their fancy. They aren't under any real corporate pressure to tour.

I know there are people that want to see them 20 times a year but those days are long over. Maybe when they start playing theater shows you will see that. They can't fill arenas on a big tour anymore. It's just the way it is.

Before everyone freaks out, are you talking about January of 2007 until January of 2012 or have you shaved off all of 2007 and included 2012 in your claim of "five years" ? It doesn't seem like five years if you're talking about beginning of 2008 to the end of 2011.
