So the real question...Why is Pearl Jam ignoring the States?
....dont care about Alpine or EV solo.......for a 20th anniversary this is bizarre.....put it this way, they still haven't played Seattle...that's like Bruce not playing new jersey after 20 years....its so strange.

It's still early in the year. The band will play the states this year.Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

No, really it's not. PJ has never "camped out" in Seattle like Bruce always does in NJ. Bruce's largest fan base resides in the NJ area as well as far as I know and the Seattle shows surprisingly dont sell well. They can't please everyone at once and quite frankly, these overseas shows sell better and make them more money than the stateside tours with the exception being the northeast.
No one likes waiting, but we'll get ours. I saw PJ in Seattle 2 years and 4 months ago - hasn't been that long and I'm sure they'll be back in the fall. You're from Chicago? Less than 2 hours from Alpine Valley? PJ20 was in your god damn backyard - I drove from NYC. They'll be back. Find something better to do in the meantime. Go see Ed. Work harder and spend less time here so you can save money to travel and see them. Europe is nice. So is Canada. As is South America.0 -
good to remind me...need to renew my passport next week...
is the only way to see the band..."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

That's what you took away from my post? Brilliant. I drove it myself as I said...it took me about 2 hours with no major traffic snags and not crawling at a snail's pace. Oh would you look at that? Google Maps has it at 1 hour and 55 minutes. Well done.0 -
I really don't get it either. I'm sure they will play this fall but you never know. And I really have no desire to see Ed solo either. And as far as Europe, I would love to go over there and have plenty saved up, but the problem is taking days off from work. That's what prevents me and I'm sure a lot of other folks from traveling overseas to see them.
So here's to them making an East Coast run in October'08- Camden 1-2 '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4
'10- MSG 1-2 '11- PJ20
'12- MIA; DeLuna '13- Wrigley; Pitt; Brooklyn 1-2; Philly 1-2; Baltimore; Seattle
'14- Denver '16- Philly 1-2; MSG 2
'17- Pilgrimage Music Fest (Eddie)
'18- Fenway0 -
Agree with OP. No matter how you slice it or justify it, having a grand total of two dates in the US in the year that marks the band's 20th was bizarre.0

long may it continue...

Its almost like a slap in the face. The US is where they got their start and we have supported them just as much if not more than any where else. Its almost seeming deliberate lately. :(Some words when spoken...Can't be taken back...0

Just keep calm its what Jesus would do.. I'm not sure if you realise, but there are other countries in the world other than the US... 2 years is not a long time mate, we had to wait 5 years between 98-03 down here in Oz... They cant please everyone at once, but you will get your turn soonI've lived all this life like an ocean in disguise0

Because at a certain point money became the most important thing. Like it or not, it is what it is. But that made it a lot easier to not get to see any more shows. All about memories at this point. But I do laugh at people spending 75 bucks plus to see Ed play a damn ukulele. You would shit yourself at what 35 bucks a ticket used to get me.Poetry and powertools0

Trust me Eddie is well worth it. Thats is with out mentioning Glen Hansord on the bill too. I was looking at my goods purchase history and the first thing listed is $78 for 2 tickets to Albany show. Oh how great those days wereSome words when spoken...Can't be taken back...0 -

I respectfully disagree. Could see Neil Young solo for those prices. Ed with a uke is not even in the same ballpark.Poetry and powertools0 -
You poor things! Having to wait more than a year to see pearl jam! Can't imagine how that must feel :roll:0

A slap in the face ? Ignoring the states ? You really need to have a word with yourselves
The band didn't play England for six years from 00 to 06, so we had to travel to wherever they went. Six years. They may not have toured the US recently but over the entirity of their 20 years they've played across their homeland extensively.
Last summer I travelled over to Alpine Valley and felt fortunate and blessed to have been able to get to that fantastic weekend. Sometimes you just have to get off your butt and go to where they're going. In July I'm going to both Manchester dates but also to to Berlin and Prague ... we just have to make the most of them when we can ... especially after those six barren years. Try going through that and then you might feel ignored !
Pearl Jam belong to us all and we to them. They're not exclusively American or 'yours'. We gave you The Beatles, the Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Led Zep. It's good to share the love back again ..."If I knew where it was I would take you there ... there's much more than this"

Ps .. Plus Eds not brought his Uke to Europe yet. We'd LOVE THAT.

Eddie uses the Uke for maybe 5-8 songs. Im guessing less this tour. But the Uke songs kick ass. Its a PART of the show. It all flows togeather nicely. I would and have paid $100 a ticket to see Eddie.
The stories between songs are iceing on the cake. Not like the stories durring a PJ show. More in depth and heart fealt. Some of them are so funny you piss yourself.
I dont think you can make an accesment of the show if you never seen one live. I cant wait. I seen 4 last tour of his and Im seeing 4 possibly more if my buddy from Houston can help me out. I cant wait. Some words when spoken...Can't be taken back...0 -
Well go see Ed then, He's charging almost $100 a head with fees this tour... more than Pearl Jam at MSG!!!0
