Acoustic #1 ----> Low Light?

When the PJ20 soundtrack came out, I was one of many who fell in love with the Acoustic #1 demo, so much so, I made it my ring tone. It seemed like a few people who appreciated Acoustic #1 like I did hoped that they would've further developed it into a full on song.

I believe that they might've.

The opening riff of Low Light sounds like a flipped version of Acoustic #1. Also, if you look at the tablature, the main chords used are almost the same. Unfortunately, a big counterpoint is that Stone wrote the music to Acoustic #1 way back in 1991, while Jeff Ament wrote both the lyrics and music to Low Light, probably sometime in 1996 or 1997. Possibly Jeff heard the demo (since he is apparently the hoarder of the band) and decided to make something of it.

Either way, I love both songs, and I hope the band decides to play Low Light some more on their upcoming tour!

What are your thoughts?

    I guess they are similar in the way that "Under the Bridge" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is similar to "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer or "Given to Fly" and "Got Some" by Pearl Jam are similar to "Going to California" by Led Zeppelin and "Gut Feeling" by Devo, respectively.

    I love both "Acoustic #1" and "Low Light," and my wife's favorite Pearl Jam song is "Low Light," so I learned to play it for her (at her request). Thanks to your sleuthing, it seems like I'll be able to figure out "Acoustic #1" as soon as I get home from work today (not the lyrics, of course).

    giventowail.com has tabs for Acoustic #1, but I'm pretty sure if you know how to play Low Light, you can figure out Acoustic #1 without much difficulty.
