New Album before 2012 European tour?

What are the odds?
I haven't heard anything about the new album for a few months now.
May or the Fall have been favourite period for Pearl Jam to be released.

    My guess is probably closer to the end of the year since Soundgarden is due out with a new album, they probably might tour as well, so it's possible they might have to delay until maybe late 2013 or even early 2014 with a big tour. This is just based on a guess I am making. I can't wait to hear it though.

    No chance. They're not going back into the studio to work on it until March, according to Mike. Even if they finish it then (which I doubt) it'd still have to be mastered and mixed - not to mention artwork.

    I reckon Europe might get a couple of songs, like with Backspacer, but I don't think we'll see an album until the autumn. Probably with a US tour to follow.

    Have to agree here. Saw them in mancs 2009 and got some BS songs on the list. I remember the Fixer blew me out of the water when i heard it then. Got some was a bit of a blur though!!!

    I'd be very surprised if a new album is out before June. Earliest I expect a release is September but like Paul says might be next year.

    Doubtful, and I wouldn't expect new songs on the tour til they announce the details of the album. In 09 they had already announced the release date and put out the first single before the tour started. Pretty sure they only played the 4 songs that had been heard at that point, The End, Got Some, Fixer, Supersonic. They didn't even play Unthought Known which EV had already debuted at his shows.

    impossible. Zero chance. We'd be lucky to see it by December.
    As was already stated, they probably havent even finished recording...then mixing and mastering, then artwork and promotions. I believe Backspacer was done recording and it took about another 6+ months before it hit the shelves.

    I'd say 5% chance, however I do believe tracks will be played at some of those shows.

    So, it was October 2013 when Lightning Bolt was released. A little more than 4 years after Backspacer, and definitely not in time for the 2012 European Tour ;-)
