Now that makes more sense, I didnt know it was a fund raiser, $45 seems decent specially if it was for a good cause :)

    Urs,

I would have paid a hundo for the evening...... It was well worth every penny last night!

Sorry to break it to you, but that band you saw? Yeah, that's not Alice in Chains.

Bullshit. Get over it. Jerry wrote most of the songs and sang on most of the songs. Layne was the face of AIC, but Jerry, Sean & Mike are AIC. Sorry to break it to you.

It was a fun show. It wasn't a Heart / AIC concert. It was a benefit show for Childrens' Hospital and Heart and AIC were 2 of the guest performers. There were other guest artists who performed. Dance, drums, didgeridoo, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, chilrens choir, etc...

Lots of money raised for a good cause.

  • The first AIC song (instrumental, with full orchestra) was Whale & Wasp. Then came Sickman(!), with full electric band and orchestra. Then I Stay Away. The last piece of the evening was an amazing take on Led Zep's Kashmir.

    Good stuff. Good cause.

Jerry did write most of the songs, but Layne was not just the "face" of Alice in Chains. Layne was the soul of the group and it's not Alice in Chains without him. All of that pain on their greatest record, one of the all-time classics of the 90s, Dirt, was Layne.

...just like Sabbath hasn't been Sabbath since Ozzy got kicked out.

P.S. - Why is it that AIC is playing shows, but when Jerry writes songs they get released on albums not by Alice In Chains, but by Jerry Cantrell?
