To get back on topic, I hope that MLK would be happy with how far our nation has come. I remember reading Coming of Age in Mississippi and being flabbergasted that those event had happened just 30 years ago. It just didn't seem possible.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

I'm a fit, single WMA and when I fly, I usually buy a one-way ticket and fly out of a different airport on the return flight. I should be pulled out of line every time I fly or at least be looked at more suspiciously. But a little old lady and I both stand the same chance of getting an extra pat-down. That doesn't make sense.
The candidates should not have specified Muslim. They should have specified that we should take all prior security threats and develop a profile based on facts and evidence. And then we should profile based on those facts and evidence. To say we won't do that because someones feeling are hurt that the arrow ending up pointing towards them is lunacy.
And I don't know where that arrow will end up pointing, but we should find out fast.
catching a serial killer is one thing ... general screening at the airport is another ...
targeting based on religion is wrong on so many fronts ... 1. will they make it mandatory to disclose your religion? 2. without disclosure - how are they going to identify muslims at the airport? especially with the level of ignorance that exists 3. based on what statistics are you gonna use?
plus, you described like multiple traits ... these candidates were talking about just faith ... sad ...0 -

I'm suggesting that every event that was a near miss or failure of airport security should be put in a database. And not just the big events, I'm talking about everything. They will be able to put together trends. But to say we can't use certain features in a database because of hurt feelings will make trends obsolete.
Figure out those trends, see where the arrows are pointing, and then focus your primary attention to those arrows while still randomly screening.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

Not helpful, Jose...and it's spamming.
fear4freedom, you're going to need to back it down a notch or two/three. Name-calling is a huge no-no here. If you wish to discuss MLK without commenting on other people here, you can do that...it's the topic of this thread. Making personal comments about others is not ok. See my post from earlier today.

actually no there is no need to love jesus christ because of my great respect of MLK. they are 2 different things. i wouldve gladly and without reservation stood shoulder to shoulder with dr king on his long walks and as a supporter of civil rights.. but i would not have sat in church with him... and he would have respected that. this does not make me a hypocrite. it means that although MLK and myself have come to the same conclusions in regards to civil rights and the respecting of all human life, we arrived there via different paths. it is the actions of MLK, not his faith i admire. im not sure you fully understand the definition of hypocrite.hear my name

fear4freedom wrote:funny to see how everyone on this site will only be nice and compliment MLK while denouncing Christiianity all together!! How can you be for a man of Faith like MLK and denounce Christianity at the same time? I always see this hypocrisy!!! And if this offends you, then you must feel convicted! LOL
I say, if you got the balls to denounce Christianity, you better have the balls to denounce MLK too!
So, I am presuming that since you are a Christian... one who follows the words of Jesus Christ... you must do as He teaches and renounce your material wealth, right? I mean, didn't Jesus teach us to give up our possessions and wealth for the treasures of Heaven... so we don't place higher value in things that thieves can take... and rust and moths destroy?Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions!
