    i'll tell a story....

    my wife & i were married in July of 2008. she knew going into it that i was a huge music nerd & that PJ was my favorite band. she liked them, but had never seen them live. so, she didn't quite "get it." fast forward to Spring 2009. we were making plans to go to Austin City Limits Music Fest for the 3rd year in a row. then, the lineup is announced & i completely freaked...Pearl Jam was (finally) coming back to Texas!!! the whole lineup for the 3 day festival was stacked from top-to-bottom with a lot of our favorite bands...and Pearl Jam was closing out the festival! there are so many highlights of that weekend for me....but the best was when Metamorphosis started & the crowd went nuts.....the drums kick in for "Why Go" & Ed yells out "Good evening, campers!"

    i looked at my wife & she was jumping up & down....beyond excited. she finally "got it." it was pretty fucking cool. they played a few of her favorites & she was on cloud nine. when the PJ20 weekend was announced....she firmly said "we're going." who am i to argue with that? :D so, we did...we drove from TX to WI & i didn't think that anything could top ACL 2009 as my favorite musical weekend...i was wrong. wow.

    if i win, i will give away the Ames poster b/c i already have one. thanks again, Dimitris!

    Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet at PJ20, I was caught up in the excitement of introducing my seven year old son to PJ live!

    My name is Wally,

    One of my favorite PJ story's was my very first time seeing them, St. Louis 2004 at the Fox, for the Vote for Change Tour. Very cool venue for my first show, and have been hooked ever since. It was first time being able to purchase tickets with the Ten Club, and it was simple... but those times have changed. Very cool to see Ed come out before any opening act and sing Last Kiss to get the crowd into the night, also cool to see Tim Robins playing music, then having the crowd sing happy birthday to Susan Sarandon via cell phone. All in all it was a very good night, good set list, wish there was a proper bootleg for the show, but I got a flac someone made.
