STOCKHOLM / TICNET AND SLOVENIA DISCRIMINATION
Stereotype
Maribor, Slovenia Posts: 885
I am writing this in the name of my fellow PJ fan (paradajzar on this board, and a 10C member) from Slovenia, who is still busy with refreshing sites and trying to score tickets for Stockholm.
For obvious reasons, I am skipping Wednesday (he and other friends didn't get tickets despite of 2 -3 hours of queueing, refreshing..you know the drill).
Yesterday and today he has been trying to buy tickets through ticnet.se as has been instructed from 10C (even during his business meetings, since new info was online at 1am CET and he couldn't avoid job obligations). He had tickets in the cart several times but the payment never went through or he got errors...he made several calls to ticnet.se to no avail...Finally today they've told him that they don't accept credit cards from Slovenia.
There is no statement on the ticnet.se that they don't accept credit cards from Slovenia.
The info on the ticnet.se about paying with creditcard goes like this:
Now, a quick crash course from geography/history. Slovenia is part of the EU since 2004 (it was the first new member state to host the presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2008). The distance from Russia is around 2000 kilometers (cca 1200 miles). http://www.slovenia.info/?lng=2
What my point is, is that all of the Slovenian 10C members who were unable to get tickets from Crowdsurge on Wednesday were by default unable to get tickets for Stockholm gig without notice. And while Paradajzar for example, was refreshing the Stockholm page and filling in card information several times, Berlin (perhaps the closest destination to our country) got sold out etc. I think this is not right.
10C members should had have at least a theoretical chance of scoring tickets for the show they want to visit, don't you think?
10C was maybe unaware of this but I believe that they could have checked that in the 27 hour period we were waiting for further instructions.
Can this be made right?

Payment by credit/debit card
Secure payment is available by credit or debit card. Your card details are sent in encrypted form to a special security server. Funds are debited directly from your card after you have registered your card details and received a booking number. The following cards may be used for direct payment over the Internet:
credit or debit card
VISA and Mastercard from Europe (except from Russia).
American Express from Sweden.

The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

I partially agree. It was also a 10C sale through which 10C members will be able to obtain wristbands (a sale that was supposed to fix things from Crowdsurge's failure).

There is a number to call if you need assistance but when I called there was a 10 min wait time to speak w/a real person and the tickets timed out after 5.
Europe is in a debt crisis but their companies don't want my (or your) $$$. Go figure.
BTW - It is NOT uncommon in the US for Ticketmaster to delay public onsales due to extenuating circumstances. I believe it has happened before FOR OTHER PEARL JAM shows, for instance in the NYC area!
I DO appreciate 10C's efforts when it comes to providing tickets for fans, but I really hope they see this as a real learning experience and can improve the situation in the future.
In the meantime, I am yet another Yank with flight booked to Stockholm who is looking for even just a single ticket on the floor!

@URthekey: Yes, my fellow jammer phoned that assistance number, but tickets were always out of the cart before people from ticnet.se picked up the phone.
Ahh well...

I am also from Slovenia and the same thing happened to me, as well. First I got screwed by 10C ticket presale disaster when I tried to buy tickets for Stockholm concert. I had tickets in my cart seven (!) times.
I tried to buy only tickets for this concert, because I probably won't have time to go to others.
On wednesday I tried to get tickets via general sale through ticnet.se and had floor tickets several times, but the payment with my MC and Visa couldn't go through. Wasted three hours at work, luckilly my boss was on a bussines trip.
Maybe I'll just go to Stockholm and buy them in front of the arena from, how do you say, touts? But I'll have to bargain hard
