Hello from NZ.
I've followed the forum for many years but rarely post (as the stats clearly show).
Upon the back of yet another round of abysmal service from the TC it's clear that a large number of members need to post on this forum that they are discontinuing their membership when it expires. The TC need to see this - and then these members need to stick to that decision when it does expire.
From a business model if no-one is withdrawing their membership from the club the club really has no need to work harder at the services it provides as while the base may constantly grumble everyone keeps feeding the club money and the abysmal level of service continues.
So simply, if you're that unhappy it's time to vote with your feet and not renew. It won't make you any less loyal to the band, won't make you enjoy their music any less, you can still access the forums and keep up to date with everything PJ, still purchase merchandise, still buy the music, still have a good chance at attending concerts, and you can put the extra money you save to either purchasing the XMAS single / mag from others (if they are non-negotiable for you to have) or purchase a concert ticket through other mediums when they next swing around your area.
If members committed to withdrawing the club would have to operate slicker and improve communication in order to stay afloat and in order to attract old members back.
This is not a sinister post towards the TC nor is it hoping that the club fades into oblivion - it's simply stating that if nothing is changing for you as a customer then think about what you are actually going to miss then vote with you feet. It's sad but perhaps only then can real change take place.
Now back to the music....0 -
Yeah Im not going to give up 13+ years of seniority to prove a point. I'm sure most will feel the same. Nice idea though.0

I'm ready to and will. There's no point. I'm not going to pay just to retain some empty, symbolic number. My Pearl Jam Photos

I know ticketmaster is the devil around here, but they run the public sales anyway, so why not outsource the presale to TM? With a unique fanclub password emailed like an hour before the on sale time to prevent rampant selling of the password? Other bands run fan club presales on TM
TM is clearly big enough to hand them and if the only reason they arent using them is because of prior history it seems silly0 -
Not saying this is what happened, nor whether I believe sabotage is actually responsible, but it is possible to launch a denial of service attack on a website/server which could result in the website crashing.
This would be even easier during a time or high traffic. Whether a 10Club presale generated that mauch traffic is debatable. If someone wanted to bring down the 10C or Crowdsurge site during a presale, it could well be done with a premeditated attack at a determined time.
Having said this, it should be fairly easy to establish the source of this attack.
I guess we now all see why you pay a premium for ticketmaster online sales, their ticketing system is robust and worth millions. I'm more than happy to use tickemaster for 10C presales, sometimes, quality just costs.0 -

Do it, start the movement, occupy ten club. Put your money where your mouth is. I have pretty good luck with tickets.0 -
Can somebody please give a short explanation of what the hell is going on? I've been through many tough American presales so it's not like I don't know about Tenclub clusterfucks...but what's all this "CrowdSurge" and "Sabotage" stuff?2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. I've had no luck getting tickets off here for the last two years for multiple show.
One word BULLSHIT!!
I pay my membership fee's and still have to go to ticketmaster and stand far away and I love it when Eddie asks if everyone in the back are OK refering to people who are not in the fanclub.Paul D.0 -
Ok so my 2 cents.... EV presale for 2011 Shows= Fail
Alpine Valley/Canadian Tour Presale= Epic Failure.. Tenclub runs to Ticketmaster to rectify presale and make presale happen because they are losing face after alpine sale= Success.
Tenclub decides to go to Crowdsurge and their "perfectly reliable" system which other "large artists" have used successfully.. Ticketmaster catches wind of this, gets pissed at PJ and decides to teach them a lesson with the Euro presale Sabotage. This sale will be completed via Ticketmaster and just in time for the soon to be... New album tour announcement, which will hit all major US markets, TM will be Tenclubs ONLY reliable outlet to conduct future presales= Ticketmaster Wins...TM20.....This is TRUTH. I'm not really sure what you're getting at. I won't be renewing when my membership is up in a few weeks. I'm not occupying anything and it costs me nothing to not renew. I'm just refusing to continue to be to be slapped in the face by such horrible customer service and general discourtesy. It feels like leaving an abusive relationship at this point. My Pearl Jam Photos

Has an abusive relationship ever opened with Sometimes and closed with Yellow Ledbetter?...Pfffft..Dont think so...."It's so nice to hear that in other parts of the world, the stress- borne from envy- that one finds for themselves is the animosity they develop towards a person selling a box of records. Has anyone else noticed the glaring irony of the band that testified to congress about a ticketing monopoly now cannot even offer tickets through their main fanclub website? and that the 2012 renewals are now in the goods section? I really don't even know what to make of this. the problem has been going on for a year now and it has yet to be addressed....where is the accountability? Will there be a refund of people's memberships? At least a partial one seeing as part of the membership has now been taken away? :?:0

Ticketmaster SWEDEN only accepts European VISA and Mastercard and Swedish AMEX!! Does this means that 10C are "not allowing" American fans to buy tickets, because of sabotage?

On the surface, I totally agree. If it was the TenClub network/server imploding again, that would be one thing, but a totally complete/separate/different system failed in the same way? They did what good troubleshooting does - they removed an entire part of the equation and it still melted down.
Been in the networking business for over 12 years now and, with the limited information we have, it sure does smell like a DOS attack to me. Question is who would want to see the system fail?
Also, did anybody notice that the BB here was slow during that time with the occasional timeout? According to the front page of the BB there were only about 400ish users on at the time with a record number of users in the 1600 range back in May. A lot of duplicate posts were showing up too. One hell of a coincidence if you ask me.- ian | www.lukin.com

Even if it was sabotage?...Which I don't think it was..Doesn't excuse the 10c from coming out and apologizing to the 10c members....0

50,000 people trying to buy tickets for 6 shows at exactly 9am is essentially a DOS attack. Ticketmaster doesn't need to do a damn thing.
Because people couldn't finish checking out, they had to rejoin the queue. I suspect the CrowdSource servers were doing fine until people were denied when paying for their carts, which began a failure cascade as they had to rejoin others trying to get tickets. You can read on the CrowdSurge website about the API to link to the owner's payment handler. Ticketmaster.ca used their own payments handling.
IMHO, time to put the 10c payment handler on notice, and talk to DMB, RHCP, MET etc about who they use.
Or an elaborate plan to sabotage PJ. I'm just guessing.0
