Will you travel to the Hall of Fame when Pearl Jam goes in?

Personally, I'm not a Hall of Fame-type of guy, but I would like to travel to Canton when Tom Brady goes in and to Cleveland when Pearl Jam goes in. I think it's one of those rare moments that even being around the surrounding area by so many fans reliving their favorite memories is what will make it so special.

For me, the Hall of Fame is akin to winning a Grammy.
Sure, it's neat when you win a pushcart award or get inducted to something, but in the end it's all bullshit.6/27/98 - East Troy, WI

I think it's also the fans' turn to say thank you and give kudos for years of entertainment to the band. Despite the political BS that may entail with the actual ceremony.0

The boys have introduced a few really good friends into the HOF, so it would be awkward if they call it bullshit when they turn comes up..."The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it"

I think the fans say thank you and give kudos for years of entertainment the best when they buy their albums and celebrate the music when they pay to see the bands play live.
I will appreciate your viewpoint and agree to disagree, but the hall of fame feels like a panel of whosits saying, "Hey, remember when you sold all those records? Yeah, that was cool. Here's a plaque. Now dance once more so we can see if you still got it."
In the grand scheme of things, I really don't know what it all means... a justification of popularity? I dunno...6/27/98 - East Troy, WI

I always find it funny when fans piss on the idea of the R&R HOF, but when their favorite band is eligeable and doesn't get in, they are the first to say "X is a WAY better band than those hacks who just got in."He who forgets will be destined to remember.

Is the induction ceremony even something an average fan could attend? Always struck me as a private industry event.<!-- Facebook Fan Badge START --><div style="width: 100%;"><div style="background: #3B5998;padding: 5px;"><img src="http://www.facebook.com/images/fb_logo_small.png" alt="Facebook"/><img src="http://badge.facebook.com/badge/147713062953.614141056.2133926001.png" alt="" width="0" height="0"/></div><div style="background: #EDEFF4;display: block;border-right: 1px solid #D8DFEA;border-bottom: 1px solid #D8DFEA;border-left: 1px solid #D8DFEA;margin: 0px;padding: 0px 0px 5px 0px;"><div style="background: #EDEFF4;display: block;padding: 5px;"><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"><tr><td valign="top"><img src="http://www.facebook.com/images/icons/fbpage.gif" alt=""/></td><td valign="top"><p style="color: #808080;font-family: verdana;font-size: 11px;margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;padding: 0px 8px 0px 8px;"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/donny.anderson3" title="Donny Anderson" target="_TOP" style="color: #3B5998;font-family: verdana;font-size: 11px;font-weight: normal;margin: 0px;padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;text-decoration: none;">Donny Anderson</a> is a fan of</p></td></tr></table></div><div style="background: #FFFFFF;clear: both;display: block;margin: 0px;overflow: hidden;padding: 5px;"><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"><tr><td valign="middle"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Seattle-WA/All-Thats-Sacred/147713062953" title="All That's Sacred" target="_TOP" style="border: 0px;color: #3B5998;font-family: verdana;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: none;"><img src="http://www.facebook.com/profile/pic.php?oid=AAAAAwAgACAAAAAMe57NWURaItSTAkndkF9yqc7YLeudXUlRbmI8Zlgt-969scmCqdU_G75K8TUPm74XnrGy4aB9ajQkobWBvlZyhgM-q2b4ag6Rsz_-7m8GsQaFt3vc_HiYJNPN_5g-HvB-&size=square" style="border: 0px;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;" alt="All That's Sacred"/></a></td><td valign="middle" style="padding: 0px 8px 0px 8px;"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Seattle-WA/All-Thats-Sacred/147713062953" title="All That's Sacred" target="_TOP" style="border: 0px;color: #3B5998;font-family: verdana;font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: none;">All That's Sacred</a></td></tr></table></div></div><div style="display: block;float: right;margin: 0px;padding: 4px 0px 0px 0px;"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/fanbadges.php" title="Create your Fan Badge" target="_TOP" style="color: #3B5998;font-family: verdana;font-size: 11px;font-weight: none;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-decoration: none;">Create your Fan Badge</a></div></div><!-- Facebook Fan Badge END -->0

I would if I have the money and if there is any way to attend the ceremony; sometimes the ceremony is held in NYC, but I think most of the time it's in Cleveland. It would be great to see Pearl Jam in the Hall of Fame with many legendary bands and artists. I've always wanted to see the Hall of Fame museum in Cleveland.Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

I agree with lukin...for rap artists and pop artists like Madonna to be in while Rush keeps getting snubbed lessens the credibility of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. :geek:Post edited by Better Dan on2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City0 -

Interesting that this thread popped up TODAY!!!
I was just at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame yesterday...
We went to Cleveland to see Chris Cornell last night,
and decided to make a DAY out of the roadtrip!!!
While technically not "IN" the Hall of Fame yet...
Pearl Jam and several of the "GRUNGE" groups are already represented in the Hall of Fame!
There's a GREAT Exhibit that features several of the MAJOR cities (Memphis, London, LA, San Francisco, just to name a few) that were influential in Rock,
and SEATTLE is the most recent / latest city represented in this exhibit!!
There are several Pearl Jam items featured in the exhibit, including a "SMASHED" guitar of Mike's, a Pearl Jam notebook and a copy of this Neil Young / PJ poster from shows at The Gorge & Portland:
as well as a bunch of Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, Green River, Soundgarden, Mudhoney memorabilia!!
Whether or not you feel that the Hall of Fame is BS...
Pearl Jam continues to play an important role in both the history and future of Rock & Roll
and they should DEFINITELY be recognized for their accomplishments :ugeek:'96: Seattle: Key Arena

I've never been there, so PJ getting inducted would be the perfect excuse to go.

I was just talking about this with someone today! I think it would be unique to experience an event like this, esp. involving my favorite band. I think it's different than an award and more of a recognition. And while some bands may "deserve" the recognition and haven't received it, doesn't deter the fact nor significance of Pearl Jam's recognition. So, YES, I would travel to see it.0
