    Bumping it back up
I had floor seats to RATM in '98 and then LL seats at their '08 show (I also went to the Capitol and saw the "acapella" performance). Love RATM!

Yeah man RATM puts on a hell of a show. Probably one of the best if not the best shows I've ever seen. The most incredible crowd and pit I've ever been in.

The best thing about this thread is finding out how many Twin Cities/MN 10c members there are out there.

Bringing this baby back up... I was shocked to find of all states there was a PJ MN thread on here. Awesome stuff, looking forward to meeting you all in the future.

Anyone going to any local shows coming up? I've got two nights of Wilco next week, and Umphrey's McGee in STL over NYE.

By my own estimates, I was going to between 30-40 shows a year a few years back (many of them were small venues, metal/hardcore bands, local hip-hop and indie stuff), but in the last year or so I've really slowed down. Part of the problem is that I haven't had much success in finding new music anymore. A few years ago, Pitchfork couldn't miss with music, but now everything they review is the same old "atmospheric" synth-based shit. As I've struggled to find new music, I've lost my appetite for going to shows.

Anyway...to answer your question, I'm not planning on any imminently upcoming shows, but that could change real quickly.

I am however planning on a PJ show in Minnesota in the next year...just sayin... ;)

um, solid gold at the turf in a couple weeks. probably will do one night of the doomtree blowout at first ave. not sure of anything else before the end of the year.

i've had to cut my show budget significantly. not long ago i was going to at least a show a week. i love our music community here.

i hear ya man. That type of music is really prevalent around these parts lately and everywhere else , but there's still good rock/hiphop, one just has to dig deeper now. It kinda sucks, but when I find a good band/artist i get a bit more hope. Plus there's always the legends like PJ, Soundgarden, Neil and so on to keep me satisfied, just not as many shows.

I'm thinking we should plan a meet-up soon...maybe after the holidays, in early January...what does everyone think? I'm partial to Mortimer's in Uptown because they've got cheap beer (bring cash though) and a TouchTunes with nearly every PJ album (including Lost Dogs and Live On Two Legs). I usually spend more on the TouchTunes that I do on drinks.

In the meantime, play Minnesota in 2012 Pearl Jam!

A 2012 show in Minnesota definitely appeals to me. Miinnestoa gets 4/4 on my places to see PJ checklist:

    1. A city I have never been to
    2. A city with a baseball team (I have so far seen games at 17 different ball parks)
    3. A city that is best visited in the summer months
    4. A city with a great craft beer scene

Been to the townhall brewery several times...they have a lot of beers and damn fine burgers. It's located over by the U of M and right by where the 35W bridge collapsed about five years ago. If you go there, check out mill ruins park by the mississippi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mill_Ruins_Park
