Nope. Because I, like many younger people, don't have a home phone. So unless they called people's cell phones this survey is automatically biased toward older people.

The thread was posted in response to another just like it, from a poll about a week earlier, when public sentiment favored the OWS movement more than the Tea Party. Since that time, the numbers have flip-flopped, and although the poll still finds that the majority of Americans dislike BOTH groups, "many of you are still shooting the messenger", so to speak.

Consider this:

-The poll was conducted by a Democrat organization w/ an accurate record in regards to polling.

Yet, here in this thread, when the results are not to the liking of the Train People, they immediately start questioning the accuracy of this poll- AND ALL polls in general. We begin to see posts asking if anyone has ever been polled- the chorus of the Train clamoring that polls in general, are ALL inaccurate. Fascinating!

Add to it, the usual tearing down of the source- which happens quite often here- and is generally good practice-although some sources like NYTimes, HuffPo, DailyKos, and Wikipedia, seem to be wholely unquestioned here. What was suprising here is that this poll was reported by a wide variety of news sources- including Yahoo and others- they didn't conduct the poll- yet the poll is not to be believed b/c the Wash Examiner also reported it. Again- fasinating.



Finally, the "WE" is a small focus group of politically diverse people, who in the course of a study on Conservatism and Liberalism, have been reading and gleaming what we can about the thought processes of said individuals, from various chat rooms and websites and comment pages. As a PJ fan, I enjoy the Porch a lil more that the Train, but I suggested to the group that the Train be one of the sites that we study, b/c of the, uh, "diversity" of ideas found here. (Plus, its a great excuse to read the other PJ related forums in the meantime.)
