    Post Momentary Affliction by Mortification.
    8-)

Have two or three of the albums after this but they were never able to replicate the awesomeness of this one.

I think Collective Soul is religious, not my cup of tea but not all together terrible.

News to me, I like CS... Guess I'll have to listen to the lyrics more to find the hidden meaning.

  • As a Christian I think most "christian music" is AWFUL! My favorite "christian music" comes from Christians who make music, like Ben Harper, U2, Johnny Cash, etc., as someone said above. And if you haven't heard of them I would highly recommend checking out Brooke Fraser's record "Flags" and anything by needtobreathe.
    grace and peace
  • My last message to you ~

You're right. You are a monster! You are sick! Get help!

    At least, I am not a fuck-up! A lying fuck-up!

What about King's X? I'm pretty sure they were originally on a Christian label.
  • sufjan may be my current favorite. theres something really all encompassing about the way he fuses faith and music. he isnt pushing it. and he isnt trying to convert you. ive long argued, the way he and mat kearney use religion in their music, makes me want to go to church, how they view it and discuss it and talk about it, is the way it should be. And beyond that sufjan is such an amazing songwriter. specific to this thread and topic, To Be Alone with You, Seven Swans, The Transfiguration, Abraham, For the Widows in paradise, and his ongoing Christmas music collection, those are incredibly beautiful songs
  • i think someone stated above their is a difference between someone who is singing about God and religion like Pedro the Lion or u2 or Sufjan, and a christian artist, a christian rock band whose sole mission is to convert people to Jesus. And thats fine. More power to them.
