It is indeed the same girl. I picked her up at the airport Sunday night and she was wearing her European Avocado t-shirt. Ding, ding, ding.
We both take off for Hawai on Wednesday to catch PJ/U2. Can't wait!!!
It was driving me crazy relaying the last part of the 12/2 show. I was on the phone, singing at the top of my lungs at 2:30am. I'm sure my neighbors loved that.
I almost felt like I was there. Wish I had been!!!Yeild2PearlJam wrote:Ok FINALLY
I PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER!
Before i left i was looking for a ticket, and you were kind enough to refer me to your friend, 1vedhead.
So, fast forward to LAX...i saw a girl wearing a the Avocado tour shirt, then saw her again on my flght home. While in line to get on the plane, she told me that she had seen Ed that morning with his daughter. SO ITS THE SAME GIRL!!! Now everything makes so much sense to me. It was a whirlwind of a weekend, so it was hard for me to put things together at the time. i was going to ask her about the board and if she posted on it, but i was soooooooooooo tired from ZERO sleep in two days and rocking the fuck out on Saturday.
Ok, now i know faces and screen names. Good times."Holly f**k, that was so amazing, I just forgot who I came here to see!!" - Courtesy of the guy in the U2 t-shirt standing next to me in Aloha Stadium, Post PJ0 -

I never saw this sweatshirt, nor was I at LAX at the time (I was at North Shore to be precise), but I'm sure it could have completely covered up the "vertically challanged" woman who was grinding on the Tsunami dance floor Saturday Night."Underneath this smile lies everything - all my hopes, anger, pride and shame."0 -

Man of the Hour was dedicated to Mikes father who has passed away.
My Dads anniversary was 4 days before this show so I welled up during the dedication. I couldn't look at Mike during that song or else I would have cried. He was his usual self, but I was just a little emotional.
As for Ed sightings. I had a week of near misses :( Ohh well, it wasn't meant to be this trip. Congrats to the lucky ones tho."Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -

What a great night! Beachdweller, you were a great addition to our group. Backstage was a special treat. Loved getting to know you and hearing your views on the issues we discussed. I, like you, hated to cut in but made my effort to shake Ed's hand and say 'thank you'. I didn't expect him to give me the grin and sparkled-eyed 'you're welcome' that he did. I love Toby for standing next to me cheering me on! Sort of like you all standing around waiting for Kelly! We partied with Brian last night and ran it all over again together. Love you new tattoo by the way! Looks great. Can't wait to hook up at the next PJ/FLTM show! Best to you-Michelle & Tobybeachdweller wrote:said hi to Mike before they went on, during KOL, while he was warming up, he signed my ticket, didn't stay, he had a few friends around and I felt like staying would be intruding, talked to Kelly Slater for a moment, took a picture with, asked if he thought the Wednesday swell that was coming would bring the waves they needed for the Eddie A. big wave contest, said hi to Ed after the show, he was really trashed, the opportunity to talk to all members was there, but a lot of friends and family around, so I didn't feel real comfortable cutting in and saying hi. Spent most of the time talking with my new friends Toby and Michelle, and their friend Brian, who I partied with in 2003 Ben Harper Berkeley Greek Theater show, small world, lol. We all had a good time back there before and after the show, drooling over all these people we admired.
Sorry, no steamy details to share, but I have no regrets.
Got a tatoo this morning before getting on a plane, turned out great, has a lot of meaning since I lived on Oahu for three years ('88-'90), plus this weekend was a blast, picture at: http://www.myspace.com/beachdwellers_tiki_bar
