I got back from vancouver with that god-awful wolfman/lamb boy thing and thought "I hate this poster."
so, I found someone on the board who wanted it and bought the '09 in its place. same band, same date, same city. It can still be a rememberance for me.
I now have 26 framed posters in one, rather large room.If I had known then what I know now...

I've had the same feelings about the vancouver poster and have been thinking about buying the Edmonton poster as a sort of surrogate for that one to frame & hang.0 -
Pardon my lack of knowledge when framing...how to you get the print to stay flat against the backing and avoid it from slightly bulging towards the glass in the middle?2000 = Montreal2003 = Montreal2005 = Halifax, St. John's Night 1

It's called drymounting. It is similar to having the poster glued to the foamboard. Not good if you are concerned about value since it's permanent, and the next buyer may not want it attached, but if its just for you, then it would be something to consider.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

imalive, Thanks for the tour.
You have the key for success in displaying a multitude of different looking posters. Keeping something the same, such as the frame style and/or color plus hanging every thing at the same height.
It really looks great and you're blessed with such a huge media room. It looks like you still have room for more. I've done something similar with mine.
I think I have the same TV, a 55" Samsun LED, it's hard to tear myself away from that thing!0 -

PLEASE NOTE - MICHAEL'S IS LITERALLY SCAMMING PEOPLE.

A.G. SCHNEIDERMAN SECURES $1.8 MILLION FROM MICHAELS STORES FOR MISLEADING CONSUMERS
Schneiderman: "For Years, Consumers Were Deceived Into Thinking They Were Receiving Huge Discounts When They Were Paying Regular Prices" "Through deceptive advertising practices, this company violated the law and took advantage of hardworking consumers trying to save money"
It's been known for years in the industry, but for some reason attorney generals in various states are slow to research because of the time involved. The NYS Attorney General just researched it and punished them, but they'll still do this in the other 49 states.
I'll put it this way, if someone triples the price of something, then gives you a 60% discount, are you saving anything?
...just throwing this in the mix.
My part timer in my frame shop used to work at M's. They instructed her to put ATG tape (double sided tape) on the back side of the matting where the opening in the matting is, and then adhese the mat to the FACE of the poster. This destroys any value, since it puts permanent adhesive on the face of the poster. Anyway, all I'm saying is consider a local, non big-box framer. They typically don't destroy prints when framing them, and don't scam people, as you can read above Attorney General's report.
Thanks for the heads up Hoff!
I kinda had an inkling that they had over-inflated prices, I went there to get an estimate for one of my posters, and the gal said, "Oh with the coupon you'll save so much money! The regular price would be $378, and with the coupon, your price would be $180" She didn't seem too happy that I seemed to know a bit about framing (thanks to reading your framing special threads).
I have gotten stuff framed at a shop where they showed me how to frame the art. They showed me how to measure, and they cut everything, and showed me how to put it together. I was really happy with the pieces I did.The last time I went in when it was slow, so the guy practically did the whole thing for me...
Still waiting for your framing special...or hope I didn't miss it... :?The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Thanks for the tour! The room looks great and you've got a lot of unused wall space!
My room is much smaller so I had to get creative and I'm about out of space. Plus I've already overflowed into my home office. Got just over 30 framed and hung between both rooms.0 -
My newest - Not a poster but my stuff front the PJ20/Canada run of 6 shows.
My girlfriend did the layout I think it turned out pretty good!0 -

Nice! I'm going to frame my AP soon... currently moving in the process of buying a house... after we move in I'm going to find a spot for it and do it up....I found someone from the first 3 rows who had a few awesome pictures of Neil with the band... going to blow one of them up to an 8x10 or 10x12 and frame it with the print and the ticket stub...Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

My first do-it-yourself frame job, using materials ordered on american frame (thanks to all on here who refer there!)
I think it turned out pretty good. The frame is a mahogoney; double matted with a slightly off white on top and a coffee bean brown underneath.
I had originally decided to do all black framing on my posters, but this one I am pretty sure is going to end up in my bedroom, so the wood tone looks nice with my furniture. I have it in the living room for now so I can enjoy it a bit more for a few days
next up: EV Chicago 2011; night 1 and Jermaine Rogers Soldier of Peace from PJ20 (not sure if i will frame the foil "Ten Club Second Annual Rockin Poster Convention" variant version or the paper version; was leaning towards the paper version until I saw Lorna's foil above!! Gorgeous, girl!!Makes much more sense...
