    Its a business...
    Its BIG BUSINESS!!!!
They are making TONS and TONS of money......

They should be held accountable for how they run their business.....

12 hour debacles to purchase tickets???
16-18 month wait for singles and magazines that were PROMISED to us when we joined the club??
3 months to deliver goods....That you can purchase on Amazon and have delivered in 48 hours??

    And its nothing personal...
    But business is business....
We as customers should be treated with RESPECT.....

If you are this against PJ 10C I do sincerely hope you have voted with your feet.... and wallet.
I have been waiting for someone to make this type of post....What took you so long??

    Im not against anyone...
    I dont hate anyone....

I think customers should be treated with respect...
I feel that the 10club hasnt lived up to their end of the deal....On more than 1 occasion....
I think as paying customers, we have the right to give our opinion on just how things are handled as far as ticket sales, prompt delivery of goods that are purchased here(we do pay for shipping here..right?), and as far as goods that are promised to us, as part of our joining this club.....That show up at our doorstep 16-18 months later....
    Take me piece by piece.....

  • Sometimes I think fan clubs have outlived their usefulness. 20 years ago a fan club was your only way to connect with the band outside of going to a show. Without message boards, websites, digital music, etc, a fan club provided you with information, music not found anywhere else, and some cool merchandise. Now all of this can basically be found for free or, in the case of merchandise, on any one of thousands of websites. The Ten Club and other fan clubs now exist solely to make money off of die-hard fans and in some cases sell better tickets to the shows. The reason I'm still in this club is for access to tickets, but since they never play my state anymore, I haven't been able to take advantage of that privilege in quite a while.

I remember a few years ago Trent Reznor started a NIN fan club complete with t-shirts, access to good tickets, premium merchandise, and a fancy membership card. Then after about a year or so he realized that running a fan club was not worth it both for him or the fans, and just let it die. After that, I still got good tickets via pre-sales by joining a free mailing list.
    Good post...
    Very good post!!!!

I especially like...."Soley exist to make money off die-hard fans"

    Cuz its the truth....

i can understand the dissapointment in the backpack...on sale for half a day
i can understand the dissapointment in the white backs spacer....orginally sold out in 2.5 hours...before multiples were pulled from orders and resold.

i can't understand the bitching that comes not buying something that was on sale for a month.
I cant understand why 40 year old people would want a packback...
I cant understand why people need an album because its a different color.....
I dont even know what blu ray means.....

I know, you'd think Stone himself was gonna jump out of the backpack with the hype around here....
White album? Maybe it looks trippy in a blacklight, but mine is in a box somewhere since college...
Blu ray looks great, but isnt most of the footage of PJ20 shot on a VHS camcorder 1991-2000? Should make much of a difference Blu ray or regular..

Yeah I just got the standard DVD. I've never bought a special edition of anything that I can remember.

I never mentioned the word 'hate' (except just there), but you seem so negative about so many things it seemm nonsensical to pay your money if you are that unhappy. its like paying $50 just so you can have a moan about how the $50 isnt worth it. personally, i accept delivery will be slow (across the pond etc) and the FC has been getting later and later (14 months between singles about average) and hopefully they will catch up with themselves or make the next one a double but I will wait and see... in the mean time, as I have said on many posts here, I am happy with the service I receive. Hey, my PJ20 CD arrived last week so im over the moon!!!!! :D

So should 10C have a crystal ball and predict what people will like and what they wont ?
    Come on ...
If they ordered enough to supply all the 10C members they would still sell out of white backspacers , the problem becomes what to do with 9,999 2009 SAN FRANCISCO POSTERS ??

I have NO problem with items selling out....
    Because common sense tells me...

That the 10club will CERTAINLY re-issue those backpacks and make a TON OF MONEY!!!!!

Why wouldnt they??? They are in it for the money...Right???

And the White album was basically a re-issue....Right??

Look at it from a viewpoint of a someone who joined the 10club for the 1st time....Lets say Jan. of 2010...

That fan has been promised a Deep magazine...And a Holiday single...
    That fan is excited!!!
That fan cant wait to see what this magazine and single are all about!!!!

That fan has to wait almost 2 fucking years to receive his single and magazine????

    Cmon....
    Thats just horseshit!!!!

yea good points. It really is ridiculous.
    Seriously...
Can you imagine a new fan club member....Maybe 16-18 years old...
That $25 he sends in to join the club is A LOT of money!!! Right??
He probably had to make sure it was OK with his folks....Right?

Then the poor kid has to wait almost 2 FUCKING YEARS to get his single and magazine??

How DARE the 10club treat members like that....

The worst part is that people on here defend stuff like that....why would 10C change when they have a legion of fans who will defend them no matter what?

Why would the 10club change the way they run certain aspects of their business???

There is only ONE answer to that question....

Because it would be the RIGHT thing to do.....

There are two things you can do- stay in the club and know you may not get your Holiday single and Deep magazine till the next year, OR-

    Quit the club.

Make a choice and quit complaining.

This is the beauty of a capitalist society. We the people choose what we spend our money on. If you think it is faster and cheaper to get something from Amazon, GO TO AMAZON!

Disc 3 looks great to me as well:
Disc 3: The Fans Are Alright Over 80 minutes of extras created specifically for the die-hard Pearl Jam fans including rare and never-before-seen live performances

Where do people keep getting this idea that disc 3 is only fans talking about the band and being interviewed??

I agree completely Speedy. You have valid points and are one of the few on this thread that realize that the 10C has NOT lived up to their end of the bargain.

The bashers of the OP are more in line with the 'Koolaid' drinkers of late. How can you condone a business that cancels an order? The rules set no limits. If the 10c is upset about the assumed rules being broken, they can cry in a hankie when someone flips an item that 'business practices of the 10c forbids'.

Sure, the limited stuff will sell out. Yes there are imperfections with pre-orders of posters, they tried it for the sake of fans... didn't work.

The 10c really is a case study in how NOT to run a business regarding the last few attempts of commerce.

    Here's a compromise

10c, please release the bluray version of these discs ONLY. Not the extra packaging, not the extras that come with it (book, etc...)

All I want are the 3 blurays. Hopefully, you can offer this at a much reduced price.

Press a button, and make it happen. That way those of us who were on the fence due to the price can still buy and it doesn't cost you a ton in terms of manufacturing.

The BluRays are very much in demand. Please make it happen.
