    Have you read the band interviews? They seem to have been done 10 min before pressing. This is a content issue, but I saw not much effort put into it. MHO

    this Deep seems like it was done back in the spring. it had alpine ticket sale info in it.....

    Look at it from a viewpoint of a someone who joined the 10club for the 1st time....Lets say Jan. of 2010...

    That fan has been promised a Deep magazine...And a Holiday single...
    That fan is excited!!!
    That fan cant wait to see what this magazine and single are all about!!!!

    why the hell cant I buy Benaroya Hall in vinyl, still sealed. I didnt buy my copy at the time so I want to buy it now. Oh, and Lost Dogs vinyl and Yield Vinyl. Its atrocious that I cant buy the limited edition items as surely you kept one copy of each in the warehouse, with my name written on a sticky post it, reserved for just lil' old me JUST IN CASE I decide i want to buy it. Well. Now I do. Can I have it please. Oh, and since its taken me so long to send the message, can I have them for free? you have my home address. Thanks :)

    Not sure if the club cares, but obviously they create bad blood. The only way it changes is either people quit the site in mass or the group quits with the hiring friends crap.

    i joined july and hate to wait a full year....big whoop...yeah, it's cool, but not worth getting worked up over.

    nor is a blue ray, or any movie for that matter.

    people have lost sight about what rock and roll is all about....it's about beer, weed and GOING to the show...not about some movie or book about shit you already know.

    That $25 he sends in to join the club is A LOT of money!!! Right??
    He probably had to make sure it was OK with his folks....Right?

    Then the poor kid has to wait almost 2 FUCKING YEARS to get his single and magazine??

    Another band that I am a fanclub member turned it all over to LiveNation which is very impersonal, tons of merchandise shipping problems, the website now sucks, people have left their online forum in droves. I think they have realised that the fanclub is just a very small portion of the fanbase, not worth bending over backwards for. Anyone can go on their website to order stuff. They do have a few limited edition merchandise offerings, but for the most part it is a money-making machine - out to sell the most of their "limited edition" boxed sets.

    I don't mind getting the mag whenever it shows up. I kind of like the mom and pop feel of this fan club, I like that there are actual people running it that will answer emails and pick up the phone.

    They are making TONS and TONS of money......

    They should be held accountable for how they run their business.....

    12 hour debacles to purchase tickets???
    16-18 month wait for singles and magazines that were PROMISED to us when we joined the club??
    3 months to deliver goods....That you can purchase on Amazon and have delivered in 48 hours??

    And its nothing personal...
    But business is business....
    We as customers should be treated with RESPECT.....
    Take me piece by piece.....

    They could very easily turn it over to someone like LiveNation to make sure that the tickets are sold quick and efficient and have more merchandise sold a lot easier and make a lot more money off of it that way too.

    But I think the band doesn't want it that way, they don't want it to be a big business thing, they want it to be a homegrown thing run by friends. It keeps them closer to the fans.

    Blu ray looks great, but isnt most of the footage of PJ20 shot on a VHS camcorder 1991-2000? Should make much of a difference Blu ray or regular..

    Sometimes I think fan clubs have outlived their usefulness. 20 years ago a fan club was your only way to connect with the band outside of going to a show. Without message boards, websites, digital music, etc, a fan club provided you with information, music not found anywhere else, and some cool merchandise. Now all of this can basically be found for free or, in the case of merchandise, on any one of thousands of websites. The Ten Club and other fan clubs now exist solely to make money off of die-hard fans and in some cases sell better tickets to the shows. The reason I'm still in this club is for access to tickets, but since they never play my state anymore, I haven't been able to take advantage of that privilege in quite a while.

    I remember a few years ago Trent Reznor started a NIN fan club complete with t-shirts, access to good tickets, premium merchandise, and a fancy membership card. Then after about a year or so he realized that running a fan club was not worth it both for him or the fans, and just let it die. After that, I still got good tickets via pre-sales by joining a free mailing list.
