All you need is the correct RPM.

There's no 10" setting on turntables.

    Just drop the needle manually.
  • Gotcha. Hey I'm still new to the vinyl world, cut me some slack haha. This is my first 10" I've owned so I wasn't sure.

  • So 78 RPM? Looks like I'm still out of luck, just 45 and 33 on my player.

That's just the speed. Has nothing to do with the size of the record. I have 10" that are played at both 33 and 45 rpm

I needed a good laugh and this just made my day! (absolutely no offence intended.)
E agora? Faz xixi na mão e deita fora!
  • In fairness, I still haven't figured out how to do it on my player either. I have a Technics SL-Q5 with an automatic arm that runs on a track under a case cover. It automatically senses 7" and 12", can't get it to play 10". And before anyone slams my player, it was a hand-me-down, and I'd like to buy a nicer turntable someday.
  • Maybe it was a stupid question to most, but I didn't know the answer to it. Excuse the hell out of me. I won't bother with my n00b questions around here anymore.

on that SL-Q5 try this: cut a fairly thin cardboard spacer (like a manila mailing envelope; that tricks the Record Size detection lever) fashioned into a 12" disk that you place under the 10"er you want to play. Press Start and HOLD until the tonearm moves over the lead in groove.
