Yeah, especially if this means we'll get a genuine PJ tour instead.

but it might also mean that we dont get them at all. I would most definately take seeing them at the bdo then not seeing them at all, I just returned from pj20 at alpine and really do need some pearl jam to look forward to. though I am seeing chris cornell a few times next month.

It's hardly as if they'll never tour Australia again if they skip the BDO this one time.

If the new album is out around April/May 2012, I'd probably prefer to see them later in the year playing new stuff than get another run of shows with The Fixer, Got Some, Just Breathe, Amongst the Waves...zzzz.

you never do know though. I will take any chance to see pearl jam, who is to say that Australia wont be left of the tour schedule for next album, highly unlikely but they did miss England for about 6 years if im not mistaken. and yes i do know that eddie likes to surf here, but maybe thats why he toured here solo earlier in the year.
  • Hahahhaha
    Pearl Jam won't skip Australia.

    :)
makes much more sense to live in the present tense
  • Like someone said elsewhere: Pearl Jam would only NOT be headlining BDO if someone HUGE was above them... like Paul McCartney or Led Zeppelin or... nah, that's about it 8-)

I wouldn't be surprised if this is changed again before the official announcements are made.

Well I’m disappointed they won’t be there. It could have been fun and im sure there would be other bands I would like to check out

I found the 09 stadium tour to have just as many annoying people as BDO does, but I just choose to ignore and have a great time
Take me for a ride before we leave...

Well, I'd be hoping they don't do stadiums again if they come down for their own tour.

It wasn't an overwhelming success, was it? I think they were selling the Adelaide tickets two-for-the-price-of-one leading up to the show to try and offload them from memory. Maybe that was just an Adelaide thing.

auckland sold out super fast (fixer and backspacer). and i think the christchurch fixer sold out straight away too.

I think the Adelaide "Fixer" field was pretty much the entire oval.

God, I hope they don't do that crap again. Arenas, please.

eh, i just hope that whatever they do they play new zealand again. and preferrably, not just auckland. i'd love another hometown show so much. good gawd, it's been 13.5 years since they played welly.

brisbane sold out and they added extra tickets right up in the back stands for like $70(cause they are really far from the stage) due to demand. i didn't think they would come close to even filling the field at QSAC, but they did.

I guess it WAS just an Adelaide thing.

It's the main reason touring bands skip Adelaide - nobody buys tickets beforehand, everyone expects to just rock up and buy one at the door like they're off to a local chook raffle. Since you have no idea whether you'll have thousands of punters rock up on the night or end up playing to a three-quarters empty room, it's not worth the trouble for most bands.

I don't think the second Entertainment Centre show here in 2006 was a huge seller either, it was probably the first and only time Adelaide will get two PJ shows of that size.

Melbourne didn't sell out in 09, but Etihad stadium is quite big.

They would of at least had 45,000-50,000 people there which is still good.

That concept is so weird to me haha, the thought of going to a concert in my hometown is like... :o:lol:

The risk is, that if they did BDO they have to come to NZ, but they dont always come here on a normal tour. THEY PREFER TO MISS OUT NZ. Ahem, EDDIE...
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D
