Pearl Jam Twenty Review

I had a quick search to see if there was a review thread but didn't see anything in particular, which is surprising. Feel free to merge this if I totally missed out.
I saw the film tonight and have written up my review on my film blog http://wp.me/p1LZHn-5H
I was really hoping I could love this, but it was mostly what I figured it'd be. I think what I found most surprising was that it failed to strike any emotional chord with me past the Andy Wood portion.
I'll still be purchasing the box, because I'm hoping the 4 hour cut goes more in depth in at least some areas. I guess we'll see how that turns out, though.
Anyhow, flame away =p

Completely agree with your review. It was good but not great.
I have to point out at this point that I especially liked the visual concept of it. I really like Crowe's style. It really fits the band beautifully.
I saw the film in a theatre full of people and there were parts where the audience got a little more active and some parts where you could've heard a pin drop. So I guess in 'our' case the emotional connection was definitely there. It certainly had an effect on me. And a big plus: It was the first film I've seen in a long time, if not the only one, where the ENTIRE audience sat through the credits until the very end.
Just my little (very subjective) review... If you haven't seen it yet and are going to today: Enjoy!
damm it was exciting, Love it, Seriously THIS IS NOT FOR YOU, awesome

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!

I think what it comes down to for me is, sure this will be great for 98% of the fans and in that case- mission accomplished. I just could not recommend this to anyone with less that a strong interest in the band. It's not really an engaging piece of film-making. I hoped for something that would delve a bit deeper into exactly how they made it this far.
The film did make me long for a time when rock music mattered.
