Do you think Eddie will get behind "The Obama" 2nd term run? I do believe he has backed the Democratic ticket, as he hated Bush (leaguer)....You can't help to think about this on any given sunday morning with all the political shows on T.V.

I don't believe that anyone in office has a clear shot of turning this country around anytime soon. It seems that there is "no middle anymore" and everything is either left and right, while I sit in the "middle" on MOST issues.

Besides the point that worldwide there are so many issues. What about those of you not living in the United States, how is your economy treating you these days?

Wonder if the next Pearl jam album will have any political influence? I AM MINE!!!!

Romney -vs- Obama....who will win? (As Perry is too far out there)

Ron is cool, but not a shot at this point today....sorry

Legalize it...he would and stop wasting money on this issue, as we do in America. Ever read your local police blogs, I swear half of them are about small time busts. What a waste....just an opinion....

Actually my son just had to plead guilty to a possession charge for some residue and a pipe. Not his, thrown under his seat by his ex best buddy. He threw my kid under the bus. But.... they got a drug bust under their belt.

My point exactly. Now this will follow him forever if he is over 18 or even not. I don't party, but this is one of the issues out there that doesn't make sense to me....

I see many people get thrown under the bus while other issues such as molestors etc. seem to get away with things. And don't get me started on OJ, Florida child killer and some of the other shit that goes on in this world. Unfortunately, being at the wrong place at the right time sucks for some.....while others walk free. Just remember, "every dog has their day" No Mike Vick pun here either!!!!!

  • I believe that just like Republicans used gay marriage as a wedge issue in 2004, Democrats could effectively used legalizing marijuana as a wedge issue for them. I believe polling shows that almost a majority would support legalizing it, and I'm sure in several swing states that they would have a majority supporting it.

In Michigan he got what is known as a 7411, After a year of probation and a restricted license it drops off his record. They really played hardball. Piece of advise, never use a court appointed Lawyer.

Good luck...something as stupid as that could really screw up a kid...

shit like this article below even take a kids life away...that judge should be strung up by the sack.....crooked judge puts kid in jail

    http://www.northjersey.com/news/1166389 ... judge.html

As he was leaving court in Scranton, Ciavarella was confronted by Sandy Fonzo, whose son, Edward Kenzakoski, killed himself last year after the judge's decision to put him away for a minor drug offense sent the boy's life spiraling out of control.

"My kid's not here anymore. He's dead! Because of him!" Fonzo shouted at the judge and his lawyer as they talked to reporters on the courthouse steps.

"He ruined my [expletive] life! I'd like him to go to hell and rot there forever!" she shouted.

Ron Paul is the best thing that could happen to this country in generations..it is too bad the media ignores him..believe me, they are not ignoring him for a reason.. I think he is one election away and by than he will be too old, unfortunately..the guy has been predicting what will happen to our country for the past 40 yrs..our country is too dumb to pay attention though

Two things, before this thread gets moved:

    1) Obama's policies are pretty darn conservative, when you look at what actually has been enacted. The right keeps trying to paint him as a tax and spend socialist, but reality and rhetoric are two different things.

    2) If you consider yourself a moderate, take a hard look at Huntsman. He's a smart guy, a "real" conservative (not neo-con), pretty moderate on most things, and is the GOP candidate acting most like an adult. I read a profile of him in, I think, Vanity Fair; his demeanor is quite similar to Obama's, and he's the candidate who scares Obama's team the most, since he is most likely to pull moderates to his side.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

    Wow.

That's a huuuuge improvement over April Wine and Ready for the World and Donnie Brewer's latest whatever. Kudos to whomever made that happen!

[And now, back to your regularly scheduled thread.]

Of course, there's a middle. The GOP has shifted so far to the right that Obama has to govern from the middle. I'll vote for Obama again, despite my disappointment in his leadership during his first term. I don't see any of the current Republicans in the running beating Obama.

Draconian libertarianism is not the solution (and it wouldn't get past an election when it came time to actually govern), especially as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

At the av shows this topic of discussion came up, some were surprised that the political stuff was left out of both showws. Given how outspoken the band was re bush and their support for human rights, the environment, peace and especially truth and transparency we concluded that there is no way they could support Obama unless they are total hypocrites. Consensus was that they will probably remain status quo = silent.

    What a scum bag

Im kinda glad their last album wasn't political and nor is Ole. I hate politics TBH. Cant stand that crap. Who knows, maybe they haven't been political because their team isn't winning. When the republicans do bad next time, they'll probably get political again. stupid politics
