I can't imagine myself ever being too old for fantasy football...but I'm only 28 so that may change in the future...0

Did I see that commercial correctly? Is DirecTV offer NFL Sunday Ticket for free now?
I still have a year left on my Charter contract damn it!

Red Zone channel is one of the best things to ever happen to the NFL. Especially for fantasy football and gambling purposes.0 -
it isnt age.
I have been a fantasy football guy for awhile now. I am starting to get sick of it (as of last season). I still participate... but its not as fun as it used to be.
1.) there are games on Thursday through Monday now. The schedule isnt as neatly packed
2.) many players' useful careers are much shorter now. It seems like there are more flashes in the pan and a lot more of the unexpected. I dont want to pay that close attention.
3.) Games are tougher to watch. Too many commercials. too slow. NFL is getting very boring to me.
4.) I started online wagering. It is much more of a thrill. Even if I just bet small potatoes.
I suspect a lot of people are growing sick of Fantasy Football. In large part it created the NFL's surge. It could mean the NFL will stop growing soon which is perfectly fine by me.0 -
You guys should check out the show "The League" on FX, or you can stream it on Netflix. It's a pretty funny show about 5 friends and fantasy football and how life revolves around it.0

Yep and I highly recommend it - I'm not a huge fan of satellite, but having the Ticket is more than worth it. We've got 2 TVs set up next to each other with their own box in the basement...so Sundays during football season means 2 games at a time from noon til 10pm! You can check the stats of your players right from the TV and it's updated quite frequently. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be able to live without it :oops:WI '98, WI '99 (EV), WI '00, Chgo '00, MO '00, Champaign '03, Chgo '03, WI '03, IN '03, MI '04, Chgo '06:N1 & 2, WI '06, Chgo '07, Chgo '08 (EV:N1), Chgo '09:N1 & 2, Chgo '11 (EV:N1), WI '11:N1 & 2, Philly '12, Wrigley '13, Pitt '13, Buff '13, Detroit '14, MKE '14, Wrigley '16: N1 & N2, Seattle '18 N2, Wrigley '18: N1 & N2, Fenway '18 N1, STL '22, St Paul '23 N2, Chgo '23: N1 & N2, Wrigley '24 N1 & 20 -

Now thats cool
I used to do the 2 leagues all the time but then last year I was just found myself not as involved as I used to be
:(
yeah i agree. the draft is the main thing. we all get hammered and it's pretty much the only time most of us see each other during the year. my league is made up of old work buddies. same league since about 2003 or so. only league i do. don't think i'm too old for it (i'm only 33).
fantasy football is awesome. doesn't require you to devote nearly as much time as fantasy baseball. i tried baseball for the first time this year. haven't checked my team since may. got bored quickly.

Numbers 3 and 4 on your list are spot on. Betting on football is one of my favorite things to do. It's a hobby of mine and I love every second of it0 -
Pfffft who's too old or grown tired of it ?!?!?!
Guys I work with talked me into joining again this year

I played once in the mid 90's, and I didn't really see the appeal and haven't played since. It is funny how far it has come in the years since then. You can't watch ESPN for 5 minutes without a Fantasy Football mention, and they even have specials on it. And there's even a comedy show (The League) that revolves around a Fantasy Football league.
As for being too old. If this guy isn't too old for Fantasy Football...
then I don't know who is."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0 -

Oh yeah its crazy now
When I started we had maybe 2 magazines out there and we had to check the newspapers for all the scores
We had to make the scoring system up and do everything by handMy drinking team has a hockey problem
