Actually I don't mind watching the walking Who the hell made walking an Olympic event? Even babies can walk, it doesn't take much skill
The Paralympics is where the true elite come to play. Those athletes are amazing. It sickens me to see those true heroes not receiving the accolades that they deserve through prime time TV allocation and sponsorship money :(

When I was an elite athletic machine..... in my younger days there was a girl in my club who did the walk. Yep, sounds like an easy way out.... I competed in pretty much every track and field event.... but for the freakin life of me I could not do the walk. Its the one foot on the ground at a time thing that got me. There is some skill to that event!

I saw that on Tv tonight and I said "OMG I thought that had already been announced"....It was in the Mercury Newspaper I have no idea how I misread it.. it was the guy I thought it was too.....
Thats awesome......I said when I first saw that logo that it would look great as a tatt and wondered who would get one, also the Pearl Jam writing inside of the bootleg cd case would look good...

OMG! Same here....I tried a few walking races, but always got pulled up for "running"...like you said - the one foot on the ground thing....I COULD NOT get it right

haha am i the only good walker here? i used to clean up in that, javelin, and high jump.. today i'd just fall flat on my face (donjon won't let me post in the exercise thread 'til i join a gym!)

Not a big fan of the Olympics. Australia switches off after week 1 anyway due to the fact that no other Aussie wins any medals after week 1
