    Here's a map to the place. http://maps.google.ca/maps?saddr=1242+B ... ra=ls&z=16

    Walking is pretty close.

I suggest "Les Trois Brasseurs" on Ste-Catherine street. It's a 5 minute walk to the Bell Centre and we could probably have the 2nd floor to ourselves. Just saying:

I'm a little worried when I hear 2nd floor preparties cause the last one I did we were maxed out of space on the 2nd floor that we had so many people stuck downstairs & outside where friends had to yell out raffle numbers through the emergency windows for them to hear.

I'll look into it and see how many people can fit on the 2nd floor. I'll get back to you this week.

  • I am coming to the show from New Jersey. I have never attended one of these events/fundraisers.

I would love to meet up with fans before the show, and I'm happy to help in any way I can......
  • I think a fellow 10clubber knows the owner of Hurley's on Crescent. I've left him a message to see if he can arrange something. This place would likely be the best spot (similar to Grumpy's), being a few minutes walk from the Bell Centre and having a nice terrasse. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from my friend.

and the music won't be that good...

if we choose a smaller pub, it's easier to set something with the owner. ;)

that's cool, keep us in touch for the Grumpys.

For Head & Hands, seems a very good programm/project!! Though I'm from Montreal, never heard of them...

  • I've also left a message at Grumpy. If they don't answer before Thursday I'll visit them in person to see what can be done (and try a few beers to make sure they're good enough for all of us).

I've worked recently with a charity called "Fondation Blue Bridge pour l'enfance" ("Blue Bridge Foundation for Children"). The charity was created this year so no website yet, but they will be sending next week (August 14 to August 19) a dozen poor kids to a summer camp (Camp Le Saisonnier near Quebec City). These kids never left the island of Montreal and were chosen by a local institute which works with over 13,000 kids on a yearly basis (http://www.centrejeunessedemontreal.qc.ca/, and http://www.batshaw.qc.ca/en/node for English speaking families) .

Nothing yet. I presume they don't look at e-mails much. I'm in meetings all day today and then off until Tuesday, so I'll go see them then to confirm what needs to be done.

Let me know if you need info on bike rides and other visits to museum. Don't worry about partying, the only question is where, not if.

  • HI, I am not from the area, we're travelling from NJ.

But, I checked out Googlemaps and found an Irish pub, good reviews and only a 6 min. walk to the Bell Centre..
    Here's the website: http://www.hurleysirishpub.com

Perhaps this could be an option for the pre-party? ;)

I'm from Montreal and yes, this is a great place! But, because there is live band everynight, it could be difficult if we want to listen some PJ all along!

There is http://www.mckibbinsirishpub.com/index.php , which is very cool also!

Live band every weeks, and everytime I go there, I hear at least one PJ song! ;)

FitPearl, which would you recommend? I'm looking for something close. Still haven't heard back yet from Gumpy's so I might give up on them? It's less then a month away. Would like to get everything booked sooner then waiting the last few day's.

I went a few times at the McKibbins, but just once at Hurley, I cant even remember how it is inside(big enough?!).

McKibbins has 2 floors, but Hurley seems a bit bigger.

Regardless that I think both are pretty similar!

I say, give it a try for both, see if owners contact you, and compare the options?!

for distance, both are 5-10 min by walk from Bell Center.

Having no luck reserving an official place to host the preparty. :(

Also add the Wishlist Foundation goodies that are shipped out from the USA to Montreal, Canada won't make it up here. Shipping costs are too expensive. We are trying to find a few friends who could help us out. If you are going to Alpine Valley then traveling up to Montreal by car then traveling down to the Toronto Pearl Jam show's would be somebody we would be looking for . If you are interested in helping us please give us a shout.

    Thanks! :)

If we can't get a fundraiser organized with such limited time, and the merchandise and everything that goes with it, should we at least plan for a meet up at a local bar?
