The Screaming Trees released their new unreleased (recorded in 1999) album Last Words today, the followup to 1996′s Dust. The album can be purchased digitally on Amazon.com and on iTunes. There are supposedly plans for a physical release in the near future.

    It's good. It's damn good. This isn't a bunch of B-sides, it's a full-out album!

This album is better then 98% of anything I've listened to since 1999. Well done, sirs!

...Trees touring guitarist Josh Homme played some rhythm guitar.

Loved it at first listen. Having it on most of the week here at the office, it's now my runaway album of the year. So glad to have new music from the Trees, even if it was recorded a decade ago. No one sounds like the Trees. Great stuff.

I've resisted listening to this until I got the CD. It FINALLY came in the mail today. All I can say is WOW!!! What an amazing album. Reminds me of times gone by, and I'm loving every minute of it! :)

Good call. I'm gonna crank it while sipping on an ice cold Colt 45 tonight.

I love Last Words. These are definitely not just leftover tracks, it's an extremely solid album. Lanegan's body of work is comparable to or better than almost any artist of the last 25 years. Other than Eddie and Cornell, I can't think of many artists who have matched his output.

Such a good album. Its a huge shame they couldn't keep going.

I like Mark Lanegan solo, but Screaming Trees were spectacular.

And its definitely Billy Dee Williams on the cover!
