Mexico City/SA Presale - International Will Call Option

As far as I could tell, International Will Call was the only option for American buyers. The other options would not let the buyer enter a non-Mexico address. Did anyone else notice that International Will Call is only available for pick up at the venue or at a Ticketmaster IN MEXICO?? Also, if one does not pick up the tickets at least 48 hours prior to the show (meaning by the evening of Tuesday 11/22), the tickets may be canceled without notice?

That's what my purchase seemed to say. Not the hugest deal, but I was sort of expecting to just show up at the venue before the show and pick up the tickets. Guess I'll have to make sure to be there a bit earlier (and miss an extra two days of work).

Did anyone else notice this? It definitely impacts my travel plans & I'm glad I did not purchase the flight prior to purchasing the tickets.

Well I imagine we'll hear much more bitching about this on Friday after the other presales when people realize they could very well be hosed. I'm only going to the one show so it's not too big of a deal but, assuming the International Will Call option is the only option for the other presales, any American intending to travel to multiple shows in different countries is going to be S.O.L. For example, anyone intending to hit the 11/11 show in Brazil and then head to Argentina for the 11/13 show may arrive in Argentina (necessarily) less than 48 hours prior to the show only to find their presale tickets were canceled without notice because the tickets were not picked up more than 48 hours before the show. Assuming the person leaves Argentina immediately after the show, they could get to Chile perhaps in time to pick up tickets before the 11/16 show. Of course the 11/18 show is in Peru and the person is again potentially screwed. Same with the 11/20 San Jose show.

I'd say maybe the Ten Club could help us out but this looks like it's out of their hands at this point. And they did warn to carefully read the notices because the info varies for each show. Anyway, I'm thinking we'll see some angry posters on Friday and Saturday. Hopefully they'll see this before buying plane tickets...

i emailed 10c about this, no response. tried calling ticketmaster meico. phone was busy.

i bought tickets to the show and to mexico city. really hope they do something to calm us down.
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status
  • i live in mexico and have dealt with this 'must pick-up tickets 48 hours prior to' issue from ticketmaster. it is something they publish as a condition but not something they seem to enforce. there is no ticketmaster outlet where i live and when going to a concert in guadalajara or mexico city i usually arrive the day of and have never been denied tickets. you may still want to call ticketmaster mexico for peace of mind, but the times when i have spoken to them in the past on this they tell me it's fine to pick them up the day of the concert.

i do suggest finding a ticketmaster outlet in mexico city when you arrive and picking up your tickets there before heading to the venue so if there is an issue you can deal with it there.

Yeah, Ive actually had the same happen to me... The 48 hours rule doesn't seem to be really a rule, but more of a recommendation... I've been able to pick up tickest in will call 3 hours before a show without problems.
Granted, this was for national will call, I've no idea if there are any differences with internationally bought tickets.
Anyway, if you guys can think of a way I could help you with this, feel free to pm me.

    Cheers

I received the following response from the 10 Club today. Looks like this won't be an issue at all. Pretty sweet. The Club comes through again. Here's what they said:

    HI David,

Please send us your Ticketmaster Confirmation number. We are contacting the promoter with a list of member who will need will call tickets due to travel.

There are still some tickets for the concert. Best thing you can do is buy them through Ticketmaster Mexico.
