New holiday single
Anyone had their holiday single yet?, thought that maybe they will do something special for PJ20 but thought it was a bit bad that ten club emailed me saying my membership was about to expire when Ive still had no single since I last paid. Unfortunately they won't be getting another penny from me until it arrives.
Next year I might just sign up for Digital and buy one of the leftover vinyls in the goods section (Ive seen the tshirt and its not really my thing).
I know it easy to moan about 10c but sometimes it would just be better if there was better communication. E.g we are expecting the holiday single to ship....blah blah.
There will be a resissue of the Immortality 7" for Record Store Day...blah blah
On another note, I was eally pleased about how fast the Live on Ten Legs LP shipped and service I received but still waiting on the Ukelele Songs LP and 7. I remember getting an email to say international orders can take up to 8 weeks (wtf?) should I expect EV to deliver to my door by bicycle.

Just to let you know, the record we are getting this summer is for your 2010 membership. You will get it no matter what. If you let your membership lapse it will still arrive since you were a member as of December 2010.
You letting your membership lapse isn't proving any point to them, just so you know. It's been this way for quite some time now.Member 164xxx

Though it does seem to be getting worse. I'm due to renew and I'm questioning whether to stay with analog. There doesn't really seem any point any more. Since renewing in June 2010, what have I received or was of benefit of being a 10C member?2000: Manchester

If you don't want the vinyl, free concert download and annual t-shirt then there is no need to be Analog. Going digital is hardly an "f u" or "take that" to the 10 Club.Member 164xxx

Although you are correct about it not proving anything i wish that it did. There have been many many many threads about how the service has been poor or bothered people. And the normal response is go pound sand and quit crying. As a fan and customer which we all are you would hope that the complaints wouldn't go un noticed. I'll be a member of the club until there's not one anymore but people seriously can't be happy with the service we've gotten in the past couple years.Go Birds!!!!0 -

The annual single and issues of Deep are the bands responsibility not the 10 clubs. So taking a stand against the 10 Club is pretty much pointless.Member 164xxx

Tim is the band manager, Tim is the president of the Ten Club. It is Tim's responsibility, if the band fails to see the necessity on their own, to push them to the studio in a prompt manner to record two tracks each year for a fan club commitment which is no surprise. He holds this responsibility as band manager, and as president of the Ten Club. I don't personally find the Ten Club and Pearl Jam Inc. to be two discrete entities - they are one.RedMosquito22 wrote:jamminpearls wrote:Although you are correct about it not proving anything i wish that it did. If oyu think Tim has any power whatsoever to tell the band what to do, you are kidding yourself. The single is done when the band wants to. Tim has already said this on the radio show. When the band gets together at some point during the year they go over it. This happened recently when they were in the studio.
If the band wants to record a new track for the record, yo honestly think Tim is going to tell them to hurry it up, the fans need this by July? That's hysterical if you do. The band has final say on everything that this fanclub does.

I'm sure there's plenty of b-sides they could put on a Vinyl and everyone would be extremely happy. They could probably have the single done for 50yrs if they decided to let us hear 2 b-sides every year. Works already done if you wanna look at it like that.Go Birds!!!!0

If we eventually get the "2010" annual single and it has a live track or two on it, I'm going to be upset... especially if that live track is already readily available on bootleg.
I've always enjoyed it when we get a new studio recording for the Christmas single... even if it's quirky.
My favorite off the top of my head are: "Olympic Platinum", "Happy When I'm Crying", "Driftin'", "Strangest Tribe", "Don't Believe in Christmas", etc.1998: 6/26, 6/27, 6/29
2000: 8/15, 8/18, 10/9, 10/11, 10/12
2003: 6/18, 6/21, 6/22
2005: 9/9, 9/28
2006: 5/16, 5/17, 6/26, 6/27
2007: 8/5
2009: 8/23, 8/24
2010: 5/3, 5/4, 5/21
2011: 9/3, 9/4, 9/11, 9/12
2013: 7/19, 11/16
2014: 10/3, 10/9, 10/12, 10/17
2016: 4/16, 8/20, 8/22
2018: 8/18, 8/20, 9/2
2022: 9/18
2023: 8/31, 9/2, 9/5
2024: 5/18, 6/290 -

My initial point was that its been over a year now since I last paid for a membership and not received a holiday single. I'm not sure if the band go into the studio every year to record new songs specifically for the holiday single which people are suggesting causes the delay, I'm sure in the past some have been done at soundchecks etc. and some recorded during other sessions. Thought that we might get some leftover tracks from Backspacer etc. that maybe weren't right for the LP. There were no actual b-sides to the singles - no one seems to do proper b-sides these days.
Not really bothered by all that priority stuff or whatever if I let my membership lapse past 3 months. PJ havent played in Scotland for years so all the ticket stuff I get emailed is useless to me. Not bothered by bootlegs mp3s, or Deep magazine and if I wanted a tshirt I would just go and choose one from Goods. I'm strictly a vinyl person, and enjoy getting new tracks I've not heard be them new or not. I'm not thinking of quiting Ten Club I'm just thinking I'd be better off financially by going DIGITAL and buying the 45rpm from goods next year. If the service/ communication/benefits from Ten Club was consistently good then I would have no worriess over stumping up the $50.Post edited by FR181798 on0 -

Does anyone remember when they sent the 2009 single out? I was also wondering, do other bands send their fan club members records etc.?"In the age of darkness
