    We need to fix the tax code and make takes more progressive and cut spending. 1st way to do both is to end Bush tax-cuts and cut military spending by getting out of the sand. Problem fixed. Vote for me in 2012!!

    that can can only be kicked so far (<say that 3 times fast ;) ) ...

    tax increases coupled with spending cuts are needed...

    for me, I'd look at military spending....but he repubs what to cut funding for grandma and grandpa....fine, if that's what the think is best...but those cuts alone won't pay the bills...

    and you're kid be fine, he has you as a dad... :D

    If you're making $125,000/year that kind of increase shouldn't stop your kid from going to college.

    Regardless, the rich will still get richer and the poor will keep buying TVs that they can't afford. My problem is that these extra taxes will probably not even go towards paying off the deficit...There are too many special interest groups that must be payed off before that happens, lol Odds are they'll say that a large sum of it will go to programs like medicaid and medicare and all kinds of subsidies and the poor will keep buying TVs that they can't afford. After all of the scandalls coming to light about our "leaders" mishandling tax $ and spending millions on things that only support there own personal interests...it's amazing that anyone trusts the government with handling their money. Do people actually believe that these "rich" people that are "leaders" in our government will support themselves having to pay higher taxes...or are they just feeding the public bullshit in hopes that they will have even more tax dollars to play with?

    Those in support of going back to Clinton era taxes have to either be

    1) In school
    2) Supported by someone else / have dual incomes
    3) Really committed to social programs
    4) A hardcore Democrat w/ horse blinders on

    As a single guy who clips coupons and is constantly looking for ways to save and reduce costs, this would hurt big-time.

    No way should taxes be raised until AFTER spending cuts. Otherwise, the cuts will never come.

    I'm not against cutting spending to non-social programs.

    I already left the state of California due to getting hammered by unnecessary taxes, fees, and cost of living. I had the freedom to move to another state that did not insist on raping its taxpayers to cover their mistakes. Not quite as easy to leave the U.S. if congress doesn't get their shit together.
