For I am too scared to dress them
Too scared to make them less than
The ocean of poetry, HE
told me was messy
Scattered metaphors of who I could be
Yet, never free
from... his similes of what I'm like
and where I'll be.
For a second I believe him
My eyes, full of wandering desire
My lips, a wave of lust
Every touch of my index finger
Every stroke, seducing the curve of my chin, tells me
He could be right...
Or maybe, the page is empty, for me to see
that it was his idea of me
that was dirty.

this is wonderful Pepper.
It's intense and vivid and great
there's a poem by Carol Ann Duffy that I studied at school. It's called Anne Hathaway
and in it, just like yours, she mixes technical terms like noun and verb in with her writing
And it has this effect, this really poetic and beautiful effect. Gets me everytime.
