Which "Ukulele Song" might eventually end up on a PJ album?

I mean, it's a bit of a longshot, but it's possible, right? The same way the acoustic version of "Speed of Sound" evolved into the full-band version on Backspacer...

And clearly, Eddie doesn't mind the idea of some back-and-forth with the songs, as evidenced by the inclusion of "Can't Keep" on the solo record...

I could see "Without You" being treated in a way somewhere between "Light Years" and "Amongst the Waves"...

Without You is a good song but wouldn't you rather hear a new track we haven't heard before in that spot on a PJ album? :D

:lol::lol::lol: Definitely has the making of a great PJ song!!!!!

Can't Keep aside, nothing from Ukelele Songs would make a PJ record. PJ is Ed's day job and Ukelele Songs is Ed's personal collection of love songs. The two don't mix.

I agree, and I hope none of them do become PJ songs. They are what they are and that's they way they're intended to be.

Somebody on the board posted their own full band ersion of You're True, and while it was a nice effort and an interesting experiment, i think it kind of missed the point of the song. These are supposed to be simple quiet songs and I think they deserve to stay that way.

Watching Ed's dvd, I wish he'd kept 'Unthought Known' to himself and not made it a PJ song. I really don't like that song and think its way over-rated on Backspacer but on the dvd his acoustic version is excellent. Made me like it

as far as what I'd *want* to happen, yes - I agree - I'd rather hear all new stuff. Just my curiosity at work, thinking about which of the songs could translate, if the band was so inclined -

but for sure - I'm looking forward to a bunch of new stuff, and I'd personally like a return to some darker, heavier material on this next one... not necessariliy uptempos, because "Supersonic" is fast as hell, and not one of my favorites, but I'd love to hear some moodier things in the "Tremor Christ" vein again...

at the same time, it's interesting for me to go through the ukulele stuff and picture how the band might augment Ed's vision on a song or 2...

It's more likely some of the Uke Songs are PJ rejects. Not good for the band but great just with Ed's voice and the uke.

"Without You" and "Light Today" are a little more dynamic to me in terms of possibly becoming PJ songs

I would doubt that any would, seeing that most were written over ten years ago. Thee one uke song from that period that the band did like was obviously used already. plus i just think they are meant to be heard this way. would be cool to hear some at the upcoming ed shows or in a preset at pj20 though!

I was thinking 'Ukelele Songs' would sort of preview something to come from the next PJ album, but I can't imagine any of those songs given the Pearl Jam treatment. (not counting "Can't Keep," of course...)
