Hopefully a welcomed distraction from everything PJ20 these days....

My wedding day is fast approaching and I'm looking for a PR related lyric/quote that we can put on our ceremony programs. I've gone through some Petty lyrics and even dug into some Traveling Wilburys stuff...but haven't found much.

Can anyone think of anything PJ related that would be fitting?

Putting something down from The End, however funny I think it is, wouldn't make it past the soon to be Mrs.

Thx in advance.

Longing to Belong should be your wedding song. Just amazing.

Bret Dennan - Aint Gonna Lose You is our wedding song.

I thought about a lyric in thin air...

"It’s not in my past to presume…
Love can keep on moving in both directions…
How to be Happy and True…
    It’s the quest we’re taking on together…"

  • also think about Around the Bend or Untitled
You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets, oh
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can't forgive yourself, oh
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense!!

A buddy used this exact quote in his program.

How about something from The Beatles' "In My Life"? It was my aunt and uncle's wedding song.

    There are places I'll remember
all my life, though some have changed.
    Some forever, not for better;
some have gone and some remain.

All these places had their moments
with lovers and friends I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living,
in my life I've loved them all.

But of all these friends and lovers
there is no one compares with you.
And these mem'ries lose their meaning
when I think of love as something new.

Tho' I know I'll never lose affection
for people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
in my life I love you more.

Tho' I know I'll never lose affection
for people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
in my life I love you more.

In my life I love you more.

I'm getting married this Saturday and we are using a line from Brandi Carlile's Fall Apart Again -

"As long as the day is full of time, there will always be room for your hand in mine"

Our first dance is also one of her songs - If There Was No You

"When I see myself, I'm seeing you too
As long as I remember it
I'm feeling like I knew that
    My jokes aren't funny
    The truth isn't true
    If there was no you

If you were my boat in the deep blue sea
    I'd probably sink you down
I know I should have thanked you for carrying me
But for you I would happily drown

    All along your way
The darkest night, the longest day
I know what to say to make you laugh
And nothing you could do could make me turn my back on you
When you're looking for a fight I'm your man
When you need a friend you got my hand

What I really mean, what I'm trying hard to say is that
I'm counting on you and you got me too
My secrets aren't safe, I'm singing out of tune if there was no you
    If there was no you

All along your way, the darkest night the longest day
I know what to say to make you laugh
And nothing you could do could make me turn my back on you
When you're lookng for a fight I'm your man
When you need a friend you got my hand
When you need a friend you got my hand
    You got my hand"

I think I used quotes from "You Are" for my wedding vowels back in 03. Been married way too long to remember!
