A still night
and I feel ripples
A pebble tossed;
Smooth circles peak
and reach this yearning feeling
A year passes
More water under a bridge
A year passes
Finally, a year of stillnessCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Directions from the universe
Taught by the heavens
Too slow go too quick slow
Refinement
Daily
Frantic blisters fading
Chords chime, resound more clearly
Church bells in the morning
Strangers laughing
More trusting
Easing into paces that don't get worn out so easily
Something speaking
Something stirring
Something living for something more than just survivingCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Fractured splintered mind
My personality
In shards all over your floor
Cuts both our feet to ribbons
Both wounded, our wounds
Slide into one
Cracked up
This injury gives us something
at least
Something to keep putting back togetherCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Settled outside a cafe
The music floating down the street
Only too loud and a bit too sweet
I think of nothing
I've thought it all before
Relief, memory, gratitude fatigue
The foreign students, tourists,
Walk down the middle of the road
like they own the place
The triumph of recovery fading
To the smoothness of normal life
And yet the sky excites me
Threatening to do something
Whistling something wilder
Gathering blackness, inhospitality
At least the sky still has no master
And I most love England
When the weather won't be tamedCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Sheer drop
No parachute
Keep reciting
Keep reciting
something
Nausea
Pits within pits
Never knowing
Never knowing
Blank
Safer than defining
Beyond
Beyond the pale
Beyond anything
Shaking
Beyond reason
Kernels
Finding something deeper
Breathless
Clinging to something anything
Faith
Breaking down to something
To get you to tomorrow
To get you past midnightCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

wow, brilliant
these poems in particular stood out - the imagery, so strong
your style is really evident in these I think, they are great. some really vivid, powerful, intense stuff. my favourite thread of yours, i think it's your best stufftremors wrote:Directions from the universe

like those lines a lot, especially
"directions from the universe" - i love that phrase

this created such an intense image in my head, reminded me of this painting:
it's called Dysphoria, by an artist called Lizzie Rowe who, over the last few decades from the 80s I think, has visually recorded her journey from a man to a woman. Just everything about the painting - the identity, the confusion, the longing, the desperation, everything, stands out. Very strong, just like your poem.
and then this one, love it, pretty perfect:tremors wrote:Settled outside a cafe

Thanks as always, for taking the time, and trouble to not only read my stuff, but to think about it, write about, and encourage me. It means a lot to me - thanks! I like the painting.
But hey! You went and changed your nameI liked the old one! Gonna have to get used to this - give me time!

it's no trouble at all! i love reading it and it naturally makes me think, just wanted to share my thoughts with you. very provocative (in a good way) and beautiful words
the painting is cool, it was magnificent when i saw it at the gallery. huge and just the colours used, love it
i did, got bored with the other one. i hated itdon't know why I always end up picking that as a username but I felt that it needed to go. This one suits me better right now

So I'm back in the town where I was stranded last year, with no money to my name. My wallet they'd taken from me. A good place to look for records - I go back to the cafe where I was shown a little kindness - order a veggie burger and chips, and a latte, and sit outside. It tastes real real good - but not as good as the biscuit I begged from them that day.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection

I felt love
I felt love
In the whistling through the trees
In the look of your face
Tranquil
Saw the world through different eyes
Saw the heaven in the skies
I knew love as I knew you
I write this alone
You, out there somewhere
To send you a message
To let you know
I'll always take you back
Send a message from the earth
I spend my days waiting
For the time I'll see you again
Just a passing glance, a few words
Send a message
To tell you
I still love youCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Your music will be enough

this is great, exactly how i feel. not just about music, but about your body, mind and soul too. and so many other things, like emotion, feeling, expression.
your previous poem as well, i found it really lovely and different to your other works - the emotion and sensitivity is there as always, but there's this vulnerability that i found really touching.
 marvellous as usual0 -

Thankyou! That previous one I did write in a different state of mind. It's not often I find myself pining for my lost true love - but from time to time I do! This time I wrote something down..... it seemed to help.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection
