The point of 10C tickets vs Ticketmaster?

I don't understand why people get all bent out of shape over getting 10C tickets. Unless you have a really good member number, chances are you will get better seats with public onsale, no? Is it all about the risk/reward of possibly winning the front row lottery? I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know. Why would the majority of Ten Club Members not go the safe route and buy through Ticketmaster?

    Personally for me, I'm trying the 10C route simply because you can buy both at the same time. TM has it split up so might get shut out for a day. With senority, there is no way I'm getting anywhere close, i mean maybe lotto, but more than likely obstructed view :lol: So I'm shooting for 2 lawns, and hopefully the good people at Alpine will keep people from rushing the 10C area and I'll actually have better seats for 80 bucks less ;)

    I guess this brings up a good point for me, is it better to buy through ten club or chance ticketmaster if my member number is 437xxx? I will probably be buying tickets for the Vancouver show. I know its a very high number.

    For me, I buy 10 Club tickets regardless of where i'll be sitting which doesn't even cross my mind, because I know where my money is going. I've sat everywhere from front row to the very back. My seat is different every time and that is one of the most important things when seeing this band. (For me because of the people around me) :D

    because you know where your money is going? does the band get more money through presales?

    The few times we got tickets through both !0C and Ticketmaster for the same show the 10C seats were better, or at least closer. Think I'll take my chances with 10C.

    I guess the whole "convience" factor doesn't really feel like it because 10C tix seem to sell out so fast. I think a lot of people for the PJ20 shows are a little worried mainly because of the Ed sales, but keep in mind that those venues are 3-5k not 35k+.


    If your like me and your number is basically last, then really the only thing that 10C tix give you is an extra chance at tix for high demand shows. Personally I prefer the Phish Tix By Mail, esp if it was done in a fan club setting. Put your tix requests in for a week, and a week later you find out what you got/didn't get. Basically a lotto, which is what 10C and TB seem to be anyways. For lower demand shows(if they exist) it gives us a chance to get in rather easily and better seats than we would usually pull off of TB.

    I guess thats all i can think of :lol:

    I have never bought tickets through the Ten Club as last year I realized I've been listening to them forever, they are my favorite band, so I might as well join Ten Club. I agree that the club gives you two chances at getting tix, which was a big selling point for me to join last year. I also do not mind where I sit, there is no bad seat to a PJ concert. But are the tix any cheaper through the club? And if they are, how much do you think they will be members for the Canadian tour?

    They will cost anywhere from $80-$100 a ticket for the Canadian shows. But you HAVE to buy them in pairs.
    And yes they are a little cheaper, because you are not paying the ticketmaster fees.

    As just a general rule, and especially since the 10c only gets a small percentage of the overall venue ,they always have had most of the best/closest seats in the house. Your worst 10C ticket should still be better than most of the TM tickets. Plus, the tickets are why a good percentage of members are members.

    I have been a paying members for 17 years now....I good pretty dang good seats. :mrgreen:

    Yeah, I'm debating about trying for 10C vs. TM too... for Calgary & Edmonton. My 10C number sucks hard... & I keep hearing about how the seats aren't always much better. Enter in that they're non-refundable/non-transferable if something comes up & that might tip me over to buying through TM...

    I figure why not try for club tix, I like to hear that the seats aren't terrible, even though all I care about is being there. And pairs is fine with me, me and a friend already planned a road trip from NJ to Toronto, which as two shows. The way I look at it, that's two extra chances for tix for either one of the shows.

    Even with a bad number you should get better seats than you will get on TM. Also, with 10c you have the possibility of hitting the lottery. Last year for both MSG shows I had very good seats, even with a 423xxx 10c number.

    In the case of PJ20 buying tenclub tickets gets you much more than just the tickets. you get access to tenclub specific areas, you get a poster, and other cool stuff. I always buy tenclub because

    a) it's tenclub
    b) it's usually much cheaper
    c) I know my seats are going to be good

    the only worry I have is actually being able to get PJ20 tickets monday. I know for the 4 spectrum shows I was shut out the first 3 nights but had no problem night 4. almost like they opened all tickets to the fanclub. Im hoping for PJ20 that most of the tickets at the venue are for the tenclub, considering Pearl jam is running this festivavl and all.

    I like trying for 10c tickets simply so I don't have to pay those ridiculous TM fees. Yes, sometimes through TM you can snag a slightly better seat, but it's not a guarantee. I'd rather take my chances with the 10c presale and get something that I know will be fairly close.

    really? so 10C seats are generally close? I guess I just assumed that they'd have a certain amount per section in the venue, just like radio station presales. my number is about the same as yours.
