check out those 50 people party decks. They are along the side of the venue, you can see them from Google maps, satellite view. Private bathrooms, private bartender.
  • The voicemail for the VIP Ticket office has changed their recording... they are backlogged with returning phone calls for PJ20 for VIP seats.

People can mock this guy for spending whatever he spent... I am jealous I did not think of his idea sooner. Probably going to cost me the same amount to sit 70 rows back... to the left or right!

Best of luck to all of you on Monday... I am not going to waste another 2 hours of my life trying to get tix for another PJ show.

I don't think the guy is bragging - just excited like anyone in his position would be. Someone's going to end up buying those tickets - at least its someone from the 10 club who will be rocking out and not some pseudo-fan with a big bankroll who's there just to hear evenflow.

I think it was in poor taste for the original poster of this thread to brag about their inflated ticket success.
Can you not "go gentle into that goodnight" with a smile on your face?
Why must you wave your flag...(under 30 are you?)

Live Nation has supplied season tickets for all of it's venues for many years.
Are the why's and how's of commerce so easily misunderstood?
Simple minded charlatan's please read what you write before hitting the send button.

    :ugeek:
I don't view it as bragging...he's happy, sure, and thats his right...and he also provided the info to a few others interested in going the same route who might not otherwise have known about the option.
    This weekend we rock Portland
  • And if he IS bragging? Who cares?!?! He has reason to! He'll be looking down his high-and-mighty nose at all the rest of us pleebs on the lawn. You're my fucking hero, Sawyer!

    Haters gonna hate.

Wow, so (I clicked the link and think I understand what's going on) Alpine is selling tickets that would usually be Fan Club seats (6th row?? Every other PJ show there is a ten club member sitting in 6th row) for $300 each? Seems like a rip, and I'm surprised Ten Club let Alpine do that (or didn't hold it somewhere else).

PLUS the VIP boxes start in row 14 there??! Good luck to anyone sitting anywhere near those boxes... which will probably be most of the Ten Club members OR the $300 VIP buyers... I don't know if you've ever sat in front or behind a VIP box, those people don't give 2 shits about the concert going on. They just want their waitress to come over and bring them more booze. Then they'll yell at the top of the lungs to their friends and have complete conversations about how they're moving or hate their job or whatever at full volume, probably during a quiet song like Parachutes, like they were in a noisy bar rather than at what's supposed to be one of the most important Pearl Jam concerts ever.

    Like I said, good luck.

If these are season tickets then the seats are held back by the venue for every single show. I don't think there is anything 10C could have done to stop that.

Right, I don't think they could have done anything either, except to have it somewhere else where 6th row seats go to the Ten Club. Think about it, which PJ shows have you been to where sitting next to you in the first however many rows is someone who is NOT in the fan club? Never happened to me before. I know people have said the "lottery" rows are sometimes a little shady/friends of the band/etc... but they're not season tickets holders in the front 5 rows.

They could have held this somewhere else, yes, and I am on record as saying I think they should have. But I do think the season ticket/VIP/premier ticket concept is pretty common at these large, outdoor, seasonal concert venues. It might not have been easy to find one that didn't employ at least a similar practice.

Yep! I think you're right. It's just kind of sad. With everything I've read about it, and I am sure the shows are going to be great and a lot of fun--well the PJ sets, I could care less about the other bands--, but I am so glad I did not hype myself up to going and determined to buy tickets and travel. There are so many better ways I'm going to spend my $2000+ and I will still see Pearl Jam again some other day, some other tour.

Montreal for me. Maybe Ottawa too if I can make it happen, but unfortunately not PJ20.

    Nice.

    Dont be pissed. I'm not.

Its all part of the "system"

The system gets used and abused. In this case, I am stoked for Sawyer. He didnt hurt anyone, or use anyone else's hard earned money. If he doesnt buy them, someone else will. Simple.

Could be like other "system abusers" that have caused an uproar here lately... bankrupt roadtrips, student loans, etc. Just keep a keen perspective on it. I'n not pissed about any of them really.

Might be a news flash to some, but the "system" and the good ole US of A have been fu**ed for some time now.

    And Smile!!!

I agree. I didn't see any gloating in the post nor do I see anything wrong with taking advantage of these opportunities when you have the means to do so. Rock on!

Also private restrooms, viewing areas, beer.....HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't pay $900 for a concert ticket even if John Lennon and George Harrison came back to life and the Beatles played Alpine Valley.

Not really. At first it sounded like he paid $900 for the ticket, but it's only $250 and packaged other shows and that isn't outrageous at all.

Hey if anyone can afford $900 for a ticket, God bless them, but honestly I don't think any one show has ever been worth $900.

Why would I be jealous? That's lunacy.

  • I am way too poor to even go, nevermind get the seats that Sawyer got, but HOW IS IT "BULLSHIT" OR "IN POOR TASTE" for

    a) them to be selling these packages?

    and

    b) for him to be happy about scoring tickets?

if someone came on here and said "hey, I just sold my reenk roink and my signed benny to be able to buy tickets to this one show", you all would call the guy a hero for making such a "sacrifice". what the fuck is wrong with these types of packages being around for those who can afford it? do we live in communism now? equal pay and monetary opportunities for all? if you've got the means, you get the spoils. that's it.

I'll be able to afford two shows this year: Ed in Minnie and PJ in Winnipeg. that's probably it. and that's stretching it. If I told a friend who couldn't afford to do those that I was heading to those shows, am I bragging, or is it in poor taste? I would hope he'd be happy for me, not jealous.

PJ has nothing to do with packages that are sold. the promoter is the boss, you should all get that from their mess with Ticketmaster. PJ probably don't even have a clue that this is going on, and why should they.

good for you Sawyer, you're going to have the time of your life.

well, you agreed with smoking baby that a "fool and his money are soon parted". it sounded like jealousy to me. if not, then fine, but we shouldn't judge someone for what they want to do with their money. It is common for venues to sell premium packages.....when a show is booked, the "deal memo" lists the exact number of tickets being sold, and the prices of said tickets. It isn't a mystery to anyone involved.

well of COURSE it's a true statement, but in the context of this thread, it sounded like you and crazy breed were basically calling sawyer a fool for paying that much for a show(s).

you're not jealous. very well then, mosquito. carry on. :)
