Looks like someone had the same idea as the OP except they are looking to make a profit off this.

I'll trade you my record store day PJ 45' for one of your tickets. Seems fair.

    How I spent my $900 (actually $934):

$55 – Chris Cornell solo show at the Pabst Theater 4/23 - ended up in the pit through fan club early admission
$215 – 3 day pass for Lollapalooza (Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle, Muse, and 70 other acts….whoo-hoo)
$250 – 3 nights at a hotel across the street from Lolla
$80 – Eddie solo at the Chicago Theater 6/28
    $334 – PJ20

Just sayin…. Will I enjoy the shows just as much from some not so awesome seats and from the lawn with my fellow 10C members? Absolutely!
    Be kind whenever possible.
    It is always possible.

I think it was in poor taste for the original poster of this thread to brag about their inflated ticket success.

I really don't like that LiveNation can do this, but I don't blame concert goers..
If someone has a lot of money, I see no problem if someone wants to buy VIP tickets...
At the moment, I will not buy VIP tickets...
I'm hoping for a good Monday...

Ok. I think this is asinine. I have the money and could call up right now and get the same tickets, but I won't. Why? Because I will win the lottery and be in the 1st row looking back at the fools who spent $300 per ticket to be staring at my ass :o:lol:
Won't happen! If you get first row it will be to the far left or right. All the seats in the middle sections are season/vip tickets all the way from the front to the back. Ten club will get all the seats in the left and right sections. Oh and he will be sitting 6th row both nights while one of the nights you will be in the lawn staring at his ass from a distance!

I've read through this thread a couple of times and am still somewhat confused, could Sawyer or someone who's talked to LN clarify. It seems that Sawyer's bought season tickets to Alpine, am I unserderstanding it correctly that you couldn't just buy PJ20, you had to get Buffett too? Does that mean it's really $600pp for both nights of PJ 20 ($1800) plus the buffetts? Do they not just sell box tickets in pairs to PJ?

I'll call them tmorrow, but any clarification would be great! Goon on you for getting those, I've been looking forward to this for a long time, but $600 per person for both nights may be too rich for my blood considering I need to come from Vancouver.
He bought 3 season tickets. It comes out to $300 per ticket. There are cheaper packages available for season tix you just wont be as close as he is.

I AM GLOWING! I just got VIP tix through LiveNation for PJ 20 and Buffett! (you have to have three shows so Buffett was the other). I know my seats each night already and don't have to worry aboout Ten Club tix! It was $900 per but for primo seats and three gigs im ecstatic. Also private restrooms, viewing areas, beer.....HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't pay $900 for a concert ticket even if John Lennon and George Harrison came back to life and the Beatles played Alpine Valley.
Wow people he's not paying $900 for a ticket. He bought 3 season tickets so $900 per show means $300 per ticket!

check out those 50 people party decks. They are along the side of the venue, you can see them from Google maps, satellite view. Private bathrooms, private bartender.
  • The voicemail for the VIP Ticket office has changed their recording... they are backlogged with returning phone calls for PJ20 for VIP seats.

People can mock this guy for spending whatever he spent... I am jealous I did not think of his idea sooner. Probably going to cost me the same amount to sit 70 rows back... to the left or right!

Best of luck to all of you on Monday... I am not going to waste another 2 hours of my life trying to get tix for another PJ show.

I don't think the guy is bragging - just excited like anyone in his position would be. Someone's going to end up buying those tickets - at least its someone from the 10 club who will be rocking out and not some pseudo-fan with a big bankroll who's there just to hear evenflow.

Wow, so (I clicked the link and think I understand what's going on) Alpine is selling tickets that would usually be Fan Club seats (6th row?? Every other PJ show there is a ten club member sitting in 6th row) for $300 each? Seems like a rip, and I'm surprised Ten Club let Alpine do that (or didn't hold it somewhere else).

PLUS the VIP boxes start in row 14 there??! Good luck to anyone sitting anywhere near those boxes... which will probably be most of the Ten Club members OR the $300 VIP buyers... I don't know if you've ever sat in front or behind a VIP box, those people don't give 2 shits about the concert going on. They just want their waitress to come over and bring them more booze. Then they'll yell at the top of the lungs to their friends and have complete conversations about how they're moving or hate their job or whatever at full volume, probably during a quiet song like Parachutes, like they were in a noisy bar rather than at what's supposed to be one of the most important Pearl Jam concerts ever.

    Like I said, good luck.

If these are season tickets then the seats are held back by the venue for every single show. I don't think there is anything 10C could have done to stop that.

Right, I don't think they could have done anything either, except to have it somewhere else where 6th row seats go to the Ten Club. Think about it, which PJ shows have you been to where sitting next to you in the first however many rows is someone who is NOT in the fan club? Never happened to me before. I know people have said the "lottery" rows are sometimes a little shady/friends of the band/etc... but they're not season tickets holders in the front 5 rows.

They could have held this somewhere else, yes, and I am on record as saying I think they should have. But I do think the season ticket/VIP/premier ticket concept is pretty common at these large, outdoor, seasonal concert venues. It might not have been easy to find one that didn't employ at least a similar practice.
