    Ok...so maybe Im not as well versed in Dylan's catalog as some of you.. Im more of the casual fan...

    But can I just say, for the record, that Rolling Stone and their list of 70 top Dylan songs is just awful.

    As a matter of fact...pretty much ANY list by Rolling Stone is awful.

    Sorry...I just had to put that out there.

    They're all just personal opinions, comprised to look like they're official or something.

    Without having the actual mag in front of me...cuz RS online doesnt show the full list I dont think....I cant give u specifics...But there are a lot of badass Dylan songs that should be on that list, that arent, and others that should be much higher than they are... Rainy Day Women & Subterranean Homesick Blues come to mind...

    But, like I said, I never agree w/ RS lists...*cough cough* top guitar players...so Im probably just gonna start an argument if i go any deeper on the subject :lol::lol:

    You do know artists also vote in their polls, not just the RS staff? So I think it's really they just count the votes.

    Also, if you read David Fricke's review of S/T, he admits he forgot to add Mike and Stone to the list.

    The thing about the top 70 list - I just got the issue yesterday so I haven't had a lot of time to digest it - is that it's really more of like, one guy's opinion on Dylan's songs. I mean, you can obviously expect the number 1 spot to go to "Like a Rolling Stone", then number 2 would probably be "Blowin' in the Wind", then number 3 would probably be "Times They Are A' Changin", you can pretty much go to 70 and get a pretty acceptable list, which Rolling Stone seems to do.

    Let me say that, if I were ever given the chance to meet Rolling Stone's Editor-in-Chief, I would ask him if he truly understood how much of a contradiction it was for Rolling Stone to still call themselves a music magazine.

    Here's the top 10, because I can't seem to find it anywhere else:

    10. Every Grain of Sand
    9. Visions of Johanna
    8. Mr. Tambourine Man
    7. It's Alright, Ma
    6. I Shall Be Released
    5. All Along the Watchtower
    4. Just Like a Woman
    3. Tangled Up in Blue
    2. A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall
    1. Like a Rolling Stone

    It's almost like they said, "OK who here knows the most aboutt Dylan?" then some guy raises his hand, and the editor goes "OK make a list of your 70 favorite songs but Like a Rolling Stone has to be number 1." I mean, you're gonna put "Every Grain of Sand" in front of "Desolation Row"? What about "Girl From the North Country" (number fucking THIRTY)? No respect for "The Mighy Quinn" (coming in at....oh wait...ITS NOT ON THE LIST), one his most covered songs??? The most popular song to come out of that whole series of tours Dylan did with those old chestnuts The Grateful Dead??? A song that Phish still covers regularly? I don't get it.

    I mean, there are tons of anomalies on this list that all point in one direction - it's really just one guy's opinion. The article is saved however by the blurbs by some great rock stars about their favorite Dylan songs. It's worth picking up, or stealing, or finding the whole article online.

    So do all of you guys have 10 Club tix for this show? I got skunked on the 10 club sale. Landed seats during one of the other ticketmaster sales. So my seats pretty much suck...I'll be up in Balcony C :evil:

    Actually...I dont think anyone here got their tix thru 10c presale.
    I think most of us got our tix on the venue's "fan club" presale

    check my location....im pretty much in the 3rd to last row on the floor
    not to worry tho...there is not a bad seat in the venue!!

    Actually...I dont think anyone here got their tix thru 10c presale.
    I think most of us got our tix on the venue's "fan club" presale

    check my location....im pretty much in the 3rd to last row on the floor
    not to worry tho...there is not a bad seat in the venue!!
    I have 10c seats. But who knows, based upon some of the reports from Aus, I may need to bring a napkin and a straw as well. ;)
