It could take a while to get out of the lot. I think it has only 2 entrance/exits, so imagine 37000 people trying to get out at once. East Troy to Milwaukee is about a 45 min ride without the traffic.

i think i am going to call that country view place today at lunch... a campground that has showers and a heated pool, count me in. hopefully it's not booked up already.

i actually like camping when it's colder out. you can always add more blankets, build a fire and way less bugs to worry about. also waking up sweating and choking on your own musk is gross

I am going to stay in Milwaukee because my girlfriend is not coming to the festival and I do not want her to stay 2 days in the middle of nothing :)

I am going to the fetival with another friend so we'll have a car for those days and there will be 3 seats in our car from anyone who wants to share the car.

I recomment scenic ridge for great camping. Showers, bathrooms, nice party beach, great sites. More importantly it is family owned and the people are cool as hell. Only rules are no fireworks and you have to respect quiet hours which basically means you cant blast your music at 3am. 3 county roads from alpine. If anyone has any questions on this joint let me know. Have been going there for years.

Thanks for doing this. I'm sure many of us owe you a "thank you" as that is a pretty extensive list. With the help of your suggestion, I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in New Berlin. I know it is 30 minutes away from venue but it was highly praised on Trip Advisor and as long as a room is clean, I am happy returning to it at night.

Before booking a place, I'd look it up on Tripadvisor.com, some of the lodging in the surrounding areas of AV leave something to be desired.

I agree with you that it was totally awesome of Payson to do this! Problem: I didn't know about TripAdvisor and I just checked it out for the place I have and it was terrible. Wth am I going to do now? ... oh my.

Do you know if there is transportation available from there to the venue & back? I'm working on getting an RV rental before I commit to campground reservations...but that will be a consideration as well since I don't really want to have to take the RV to the show.

Booked a hotel (well, a motel), but the rental RV at Country View sounds wayyyyy more fun.

I'm tenting at Country View. Hopefully we can arrange some transportation.

Did you reserve yet? If so did you have to reserve 3 nights? This looks like a nice close place to the venue. Anyway we could arrange for a shuttle from here to the the show and back?

I'm a local more or less since I live in WI and I'll be driving down, so as long as it's practical and nothing comes up, I'd be happy to give a ride to 4 or 5 people that flew in with my station wagon that I'll be driving to get to the venue. You can pay me in beer. ;) Sept 3rd is a long way away though so we'll figure isht out more later.

BTW, I booked all 3 nights on Friday evening because I figured this was eminent, but when I told them the dates I wanted they didn't tell me right off the bat that I HAD to do all 3. At least not from her tone of voice, etc. She said "You want to do Friday too?" Keep in mind this was PRE announcement so that may be changing.
    I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

    Hi all,

In an effort to help keep track of everyone's travel & accommodation plans I've created an Excel spreadsheet on Google docs that is editable by all. You can add your own travel plans, keep track of what your friends are doing, find a roomie, a road tripper, a ticket buddy or whatever.

Any information that you post in the spreadsheet is viewable by anyone who has this link so be careful about posting personal information that you don't want out to the masses.

You don't need to ask for permission to edit... just follow this link and begin editing the document.

    Have fun!
