Thanks, i appreciate that info. Looks like i'm gonna need it too, as the first 4 places i tried are already booked. You could probably get a Hotel for the weekend before, or after, with NO problems. Any CHANCE this won't be on Labor Day Weekedend? or, that would make too much sense?0

I'm going to be tenting it at Country View Camp Ground. Stayed there in 03 I think and it's a decent place. We had about a dozen people around a camp fire drinking and playing acoustic and no one bothered us.I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

Is it better to tent or caravan?***We all Believe***0 -

All depends on how many creature comforts you want. In early Sept you should still be in the 70's for weather if it's nice out and it won't get that cold at night either so camping in a tent wouldn't be bad as long as the weather holds up okay.I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

Lake Geneva. Booked. Thx for the thread. Have read about the nightmarish traffic from Alpine Valley. How long would it take for us to get back to Milwaukee real time?0

It could take a while to get out of the lot. I think it has only 2 entrance/exits, so imagine 37000 people trying to get out at once. East Troy to Milwaukee is about a 45 min ride without the traffic.Summerfest '95,Alpine '98,Ice Bowl(Alpine'00),Alpine'03,Chicago'06,Summerfest(x2)'06,Riverside Theater '08(EV),ChicagoII '09, PJ20-Alpine Valley 9/3/11, 9/4/11, Wrigley 7/19/13, Voodoo Fest '13 (New Orleans), Milwaukee '14, Wrigley 1,2 '160 -
i think i am going to call that country view place today at lunch... a campground that has showers and a heated pool, count me in. hopefully it's not booked up already.0

i actually like camping when it's colder out. you can always add more blankets, build a fire and way less bugs to worry about. also waking up sweating and choking on your own musk is gross

for those going the camping route i can recommend bark river. great staff and very cheap. have stayed there for phish in the past."What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."0

I am going to stay in Milwaukee because my girlfriend is not coming to the festival and I do not want her to stay 2 days in the middle of nothing
I am going to the fetival with another friend so we'll have a car for those days and there will be 3 seats in our car from anyone who wants to share the car.Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me -> Stupid Mop -> Estúpida Fregona -> www.estupidafregona.net0 -
I recomment scenic ridge for great camping. Showers, bathrooms, nice party beach, great sites. More importantly it is family owned and the people are cool as hell. Only rules are no fireworks and you have to respect quiet hours which basically means you cant blast your music at 3am. 3 county roads from alpine. If anyone has any questions on this joint let me know. Have been going there for years."Going where the water tastes like wine!"0

Thanks for doing this. I'm sure many of us owe you a "thank you" as that is a pretty extensive list. With the help of your suggestion, I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in New Berlin. I know it is 30 minutes away from venue but it was highly praised on Trip Advisor and as long as a room is clean, I am happy returning to it at night.
Before booking a place, I'd look it up on Tripadvisor.com, some of the lodging in the surrounding areas of AV leave something to be desired.POP POP!0 -
