Was any of PJ songs written for or about Mia Zapata? For instance I'm Alive. I always thought it was written about Eddies' Life but maybe I was wrong? And didn't they do some kind of special show? If so, is it on tape or dvd so I can see it?

I was just thinking about her the other day... I won't pretend to know if they did or not but I know they recorded Leaving Here as part of a benefit to women's self defense which came after her murder I believe.

They didn't write the song though...

From the conversations I've had with recording engineers and music business people who were heavily involved with the Seattle scene at the time, Mia Zapata's abduction/death caused much more grief and sorrow than Cobain's suicide. It's considered to be the true tragedy of grunge.

I was assuming maybe she meant Alive. Either way, those songs were written years before Mia was killed. So they aren't about her, and the meaning of Alive is pretty well documented. I don't know if there is a song about her or not, I can't think of one off the top of my head.

Why would you call it the bad radio song?

I love the Gits and Mia's voice, definitely one of the biggest tragedies in music, that was completely overlooked.

There's a song called "I'm Alive" that Eddie did with the band Bad Radio, before he joined Pearl Jam.

-I know that was written before "Mia"was Murdered I just thought maybe the group Dedicated "The Song" to Her.-

I guess they could, but I can think of several other PJ songs that would be more appropriate to dedicate to her should they have decided to. Lyrically the song is about a young man who finds out that his father is really his stepfather, that his real father is dead, and then proceeds to have an incestuous relationship with his mother.

By the way, good luck with that epilepsy. I used to have seizures too, but I haven't had one in 12 years because I found a medication that worked for me, Trileptal. It sometimes takes a little while to find a medication or combination of them to get the job done, it's mainly trial and error. Hopefully they get you taken care of. I know it sucks in the meantime, because during that trial and error period, the errors SSSUUUCCCKKK. There's nothing worse than going into a store and next thing you know you're waking up on the floor in one of the aisles with 15-20 people hovering over you. It's like, what does a motherfucker have to do to get some Skittles?
