    Maybe he wrote it after the divorce, but after he had already met Jill and this song (and you're true) are about her.

    Really, I guess when I hear these lyrics along with Brokenheart as well as Goodbye I dont see a man finding a new love, but being very sad about losing his current.

    The song is defiantly about his newest love.

    He told us a story about the song in Sydney that went something like. Me and my girl spent 5 weeks in Bondi. I didn't want to bring out a guitar because it was so big so I bought this little thing (uke). I wrote this song as we swam and sunned, its now been 11 years and two kids later that I'm going to bring this song home.

    Ahhh Ed.

    To me they feel more reflective on the past love, like he's trying to come to terms so he can move on with the new love.

    aww what a lovely story

    i definitely see it as a song about current love, about the time when you're falling in love, realising how much this person means to you.

    Hey Glen, I hate to break it to you but he told that story before he sang another uke song called Without You .. not this song. I was at that show too (Sydney, 19th March) .. I remember it well and I have .. um .. proof. ;):)

    And that would partly explain *her* presence in the video too, I think.
    When watching the video I had the impression it was definitely a homage to her and consequently to the love they share.

    And our little EV is showing a little gray in the beard. Makes me feel old since I've been following them since the early 90s. Got quite a bit of gray on the roof myself these days. :roll: :ugeek:
