Flight prices are the same from Italy at the moment and it doesn't make difference if you stay three weeks or one, if you leave august 15 or august 30.
Some friends of mine have decided to give up, because we're all having problems at work with vacation schedules, and so my original plans to travel a little and then go to the PJ weekend are gone.
    Not affordable anymore.
And I don't know if I want to spend 2000 dollars at least for a one week trip to the States.
    I'm disappointed.

Yeah I know! I kind of had a figure of around a maximum of £1000 ($1700) in my head for the trip...travel, hotel and tickets etc... that's not going to happen, so it is unlikely to happen for me.

My wife and I are going. We are from Tulsa, OK. We can't wait. We are festival goers and have decided not to go to any festivals but the PJ "get together" weekend; due to financial reasons. I have no doubt it will be and once in a lifetime opportunity, worth sacrificing attendance at another festival.
  • hoping they scraped all original plans and do it DMB style if they feel the need to celebrate PJ20. Multiple shows. This is nuts. Ive lost all hope at this point. How could it possibly live up to the hype?

And $1200+ for plane tix alone is crazy. Add to that 2-3 nights hotel stay at about $200-$300 per night, plus cost of tickets for the show...not to mention food, merch, booze, car or cab or additional transportation costs. Its nuts. Especially in this economy. Who the hell expects people to be able to afford this shit? Scrap the weekend destination plans AND DO A PROPER TOUR!!!

And that email was such a images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSkO9JCTxhS2Ojz9rdrEAfAUzrXFkp8yztDOi3zmkYdxfGEJXad7w

at this point i feel like we're being screwed with horribly.

I've pretty much lost interest in this thing. I've been seeing and plan to see so many other great bands (bands that actually tour and play here) that I don't care if it happens or not. Small tour doesn't excite me either since I doubt they will play the South.

They certainly aren't going out of their way to promote it that's for sure.

I don't understand all the anger about the lack of an official announcement on the pending PJ20 festival.....
I await with much anticipation as all of us do, but anger stretches it too far. When our "got to have it now" consumer mentality overcomes us, we become animals and lose all sense of rationality (and adventure, I must say).

1/2 glass full instead of 1/2 empty fellow fans!! If a festival announcement comes, I know some will be disappointed if they can't go, but be happy and gracious it's happening at all. I know we'll all be more than willing to share the experience with those that can't make it for whatever reason.... heck, I anticipate going, but who knows what might prevent me from taking advantage of the opportunity.

I enjoy reading the "guesses" as to when and where this might take place; and I can't wait to know for sure.
AND I can't wait to see many of you there!!

Until that day...... grab your favorite PJ playlist and rock!

I've gone from being 90% sure I would go to about 5%. I'm glad they didn't post it sooner before I had a chance to think it over. For me I know it won't live up to what it would cost to get there.

They are doing themselves a disservice by doing one location (if that's the case). You have a ton of fans all over the world and you're going to celebrate 20 years as a band over one weekend? why? if they won't do a real tour for this i'm guessing they never will again.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
  • RedMosquito22RedMosquito22 Posts: 8,158
If by real tour you mean 70+ shows, you're right they probably won't ever do that again. They may, but it's highly unlikely.

This weekend are not the only shows that will be played this year.

so you think 3-4 months is enough time for people to plan for this , take time off of work and spend close to 2 grand like it's nothing, wow really? the more the band waits the more it's a screw you to fans overseas or fans in the states who are waiting around to plan their vacation and summer for this.

The longer this takes to be announced my % of going decreases. To me announcing at least a time frame would have been a nice bit of info. A week or 2 period of when the show could be would have solved alot of bitching and complaining.
